Position Title: Sr. Research Scientist
Summary:
Reporting to DGM R&D Chocolates & Confy, the Hershey India Private Limited, at Makson Surendranagar, Senior Research Scientist position provides project leadership on low to medium project’s complexity by leveraging knowledge and experience to drive Chocolates, spreads & confectionery innovation and growth for the Hershey India Private Limited as a priority but also by supporting prototyping work of projects related with the international key markets when needed.
The candidate will accomplish this by:
• Leads low to medium projects from a complexity standpoint
• Developing new Chocolate, spreads, confectionery and related products and processes
• Assist on phases of projects that are of major importance, complexity, or scope.
• Use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Problem solving through application of knowledge and creative thinking
• Ensuring project execution and technology transfer.
• Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
• Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Observing, recording, and evaluating experimental data to draw conclusions
• Preparing project reports and presentations
• Product life cycle management, shelf life study and related documentations.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
Postgraduate / graduate Food in food science/technology or related sciences is desirable. The candidate will have knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), analytical techniques, chocolate, confectionary or snacks technologies, research methodology and experience in projects process. Candidates should be comfortable operating laboratory, pilot plant and plant equipment and possess excellent math and computer skills. Also, should be familiar on New Product process.
• Substantial experience of food product research and development.
• Strong understanding of principles of food chemistry and ingredients functionality is desirable.
