Summary:
The Salty CI Project Lead will play a critical leadership role in the development of the Salty Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Program. This individual will work closely with key stakeholders across the Salty Snacks Division to execute implementation of strategic continuous improvement projects. They will be collaborating with multiple functions to develop operational solutions, provide recommendations to leadership, and establish and implement execution plans for margin enhancement, network solutions and production capacity expansion initiatives. The Salty CI Project Lead will leverage supply chain knowledge and technical skills to drive solutions in a dynamic business environment filling a critical role in leading the development and execution of Salty Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Projects.
Key responsibilities of the Salty CI Project Lead include:
- Provide robust operational solutions by demonstrating and developing supply chain experience
- Lead the formulation, evaluation, strategy, and presentation of Salty Supply Chain margin improvement solutions and alternatives
- Develop and present project business feasibility assessments including project financial analysis, supply chain feasibility, and risk assessment
- Manage complex continuous improvement projects by managing timelines, interdependencies, risk analysis, and contingency plans
- Support the Salty Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Business Process
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Salty Continuous Improvement Project Leadership

- Lead cross-functional teams in the development of supply chain margin improvement and network solution projects with sound technical solutions
- Develop project business feasibility assessments including project scope, budget, resource requirements, schedule, end-to-end supply chain feasibility, risk assessment, and financial analysis
- Present project business cases and make recommendations for project initiation
- Collaborate with multiple business case owners to manage project interdependencies and adjust scopes and milestones as needed
- Influence key stakeholders to gain alignment on critical decisions and keep them involved as projects progress
- Provide continuous improvement project management to identify risks, assess operations readiness, resolve issues, and ensure projects are completed on time
Salty Continuous Improvement Program Development

- Facilitate development of the multi-year Salty Supply Chain CI portfolio, including leading ideation sessions, opportunity valuation, prioritization, securing resources, developing action plans, and establishing business alignment
- Provide strong leadership for the Salty Supply Chain to develop and execute CI initiatives with excellence
- Lead cross-functional teams including Packaging, Procurement, R&D, OBD, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Alliances, Engineering, and Logistics to outline operational feasibility, assessment of savings, implementation timing, and resource requirements
- Manage interdependencies between business opportunity and operational plan to achieve required deliverables
Salty Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Business Process
- Serve as a CI subject matter expert
- Deploy CI processes and tools to the Salty team including training
- Identify lessons learned amongst the Salty Supply Chain
- Support development of CI pipeline improvements and maintenance
- Prepare standard CI reports for the IBM Process
Generate new Ideas for Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with Key stakeholders, the CI Center of Excellence, and Corporate Capital Administration in multi-year capital plan development
- Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate as necessary for resolution.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain partners to identify and enable future margin improvement projects
- Lead brainstorming sessions to generate new CI opportunities
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to implement a project, process, or idea
- Experience developing project feasibility assessments
- Experience with enterprise resource planning systems (e.g. SAP, Accolade, PDM, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong presentation skills; experience interacting with leadership
- Analytical and data analysis skills
- Planning and project management skills
- Effective time management/prioritization skills. Must be able to handle numerous projects at one time
- Working knowledge of product costing
- Working knowledge of manufacturing, operations, and core technologies/processes preferred; CPG experience preferred
- Working knowledge of supply chain operations such as customer delivery, manufacturing footprint, Network Strategy and Optimization; CPG experience preferred
- Experience leading margin improvement, product/process change, or development projects preferred
- Up to 5% travel to US manufacturing and vendor locations for development
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Food Science or related fields
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years Supply Chain experience. CPG experience preferred
- Lean/Six Sigma green belt certification required; black belt certification preferred
- Experience/knowledge of supply chain operations and/or manufacturing
