Summary

Category Management analysts, consultants, and strategists will serve as an indispensable consultative partner for Hershey’s key customers.  Development and implementation of category initiatives to meet and exceed Hershey and customer KPIs, market share and financial objectives. This person will be an expert in the pervasive application of insights to fuel category growth. Key to strong success in role is synthesizing business trends, competitive trends, shopper insights, financial insights, etc., to identify opportunities and develop solutions to drive category growth across total store. 

These roles will influence the development and implementation of category strategy & initiatives, support the customers and/or Hershey 3 year and annual planning through pervasive use of insights and capabilities. 

 

Responsibilities

Act as the indispensable consultative partner internally and externally, driving projects to achieve Hershey and customer financial objectives. Isolate potential growth opportunities for both the category and Hershey. 

Acts as the Category Expert and Trusted Partner to ensure the execution of Strategic Business Plan using Business Development Planning Process to make topline sales plan, and additional sales customer, and shopper goals

Collaboratively work with the retailer, internal counterparts and cross function business teams to uncover insights and build action plans to drive profitable growth.

Effectively penetrate horizontally and vertically to align key stakeholders on category lead initiatives.

Utilization and application of traditional category management tools including, but not limited to: JDA (Space Management), Syndicated Data, Seasonal Order Writing (SOLVE), Efficient Assortment, Tableau Reporting, Executive Summaries and Fair Share Analysis to ensure the execution and support of strategic business plan. 

Identify and execute strategic retail solutions to drive category growth

Work collaboratively across functions to execute retail solutions and effectively measure success based on aligned goals and metrics. 

 

Qualifications

  • Effective Customer facing experience
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous environment
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills, proven ability to work on multiple assignments at once
  • Ability to create selling stories out of fact based opportunities

 

Requirements

  • Previous Category Management, Insight, Analytics or equivalent experience
  • analytical skills and understanding of consumer\shopper behavior and market research strategies
  • Knowledge of consumer sales industry trends and complete working knowledge of the category management process and tools

 

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
