Production Supervisor

Please note that this is a 3rd shift position requiring flexibility to cover other shifts as needed

 

 

Summary: 

This position will report directly to the Operations Manager and be responsible for overall production operations and standards within their shift of responsibility including maintaining production standards, meetings schedule conformance and coordinates activities concerned with the production of company products.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates production activities and priorities to obtain maximum efficiency of operations.
  • Address and resolve operational issues, employee conflicts, and customer concerns that arise during the shift. Implement appropriate solutions and escalate issues to higher management if needed. Foster a proactive problem-solving approach within the team.
  • Reviews, execute and implement procedures and reports to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Ensures safety and quality programs are always followed.
  • Revises production schedules and priorities because of equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Execute established production and quality control standards.
  • Promotes a team atmosphere, takes pride in workmanship, must be self-motivated, and provides timely and accurate work.
  • Communicates with associates on shift on an ongoing basis about the status of the shift or any problems that may arise.
  • Review and check daily production paperwork for accuracy and completion.
  • Perform daily inspection of the facility each shift.
  • Monitor and report attendance of team members on shift.
  • Approve timecards for associates on shift.
  • Responsible and accountable for managing performance of employees with support from HR and Department Manager
  • Responsible for development and training of employees on shift
  • Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: 

 

  • Computer program knowledge including Microsoft Office and ERP systems; SAP experience a plus.
  • Ability to work a flex schedule.
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
  • Be a self-starter; ability to work independently as well as with other personnel and management.
  • Team building, decision making, management and mentorship skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong teams and interact at all levels of the plant, including front line employees.
  • Demonstrates a passion for learning and a willingness to build new skills. Recognizes opportunities to simplify processes and create efficiencies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to navigate through complex and difficult managerial situations.
  • Proficient with developing business strategies, ensuring projects are completed on time and on budget.
  • Exposed to food production environment and warehouse environment which may involve noise and fluctuating temperatures.
  • Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred  

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or in a high speed, complex environment required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity preferred
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
