Summary:
The Team Lead - Delhaize USA is responsible for leading the Delhaize USA business within ADUSA by performing as the Customer Sales Executive (CSE) for Food Lion as well as leading the Hannaford CSE towards the same objectives. The priority is to profitably grow the Delhaize and Hershey business to achieve objectives and plans, including net sales, market share, trade spend, and sales activity margin. Responsibilities include business planning & analysis, creating valued business partnerships with the customers by becoming a business advisor, and achieving mutually beneficial agreements through skilled negotiation and understanding of the customer’s business. The CSE will also leverage insights to build a 1 to 3-year business plan and deploy supporting tactics to achieve omnichannel growth and financial objective. 

 

People leadership is critical for this position to coach the Hannaford CSE towards achieving the same total Delhaize objectives and developing their skills and abilities in the role. It is also expected this individual is a leader amongst the greater ADUSA team.  
 
Responsibilities:
• Effectively collaborate with customer to optimize revenue, develop the joint business plan and ensure retail execution across multiple Hershey Regions.
• Achieve net sales, market share, trade spend, and sales activity margin targets for Food Lion and indirectly through Hannaford by simulating and planning incremental volume and pre and post analysis as well as displaying core competencies and behaviors. This includes judiciously managing and allocating trade funds (maintaining compliance with all Sarbanes Oxley policies) to achieve profitable sales growth.
• Coach and lead a direct report to achieve their business objectives by demonstrating Hershey Values and proficiencies as a CSE.
• Build and maintain appropriate sales plans with Sales Planning and Sale Enablement partners 
• Manage trade funding budget to include clearing deductions and processing invoices.
• Conduct reviews of Seasons and Everyday weekly sales performance with the Category Management team to understand the results of each season and major promotions vs the metrics and to uncover future business opportunities.
• Lead seasonal/innovation line review process with the customer buying team to negotiate and sell our strategy in support of key innovation and aligned JBP objectives.
• Monitor and control customer expenses to include waste, sell thru, supply chain costs, and unauthorized deductions.
• Achieve appropriate levels of account penetration.
• Alignment with retail team through participation and travel to retail meetings as well as field visits with appropriate Retail Management.
• Work collaboratively with Hershey Category Management, Team Lead, CSEs, Supply Chain, Sales Planning, Omnichannel and other cross functional partners on the account.
 
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: At least 7 years relevant sales experience.
