The Customer Sales Executive (CSE) is responsible for profitably growing Kroger’s and Hershey’s Salty Snacks business to achieve objectives and plans, including net sales, market share, trade spend, and sales activity margin with a focus on the Kroger western region divisions.  

Responsibilities include business planning & analysis, creating valued business partnerships with key contacts at Kroger Divisions and within Hershey, and achieving mutually beneficial agreements through skilled negotiation and understanding of the customer’s business. The CSE will leverage insights to build out annual business plans and deploy supporting tactics to achieve financial objectives. The CSE will also be highly involved in several centralized selling tools and activities across the CSE team, including AFS, PlanEx leadership in the future, 1WS submissions, and period program materials for their respective Kroger Divisions.

This role reports into the Director of Salty Snacks - Kroger.




  • Achieve net sales, market share, trade spend, and sales activity margin targets for Kroger by simulating and planning incremental volume, pre and post analysis, and displaying core competencies and behaviors.  This includes judiciously managing and allocating trade funds (maintaining compliance with all Sarbanes Oxley policies) to achieve profitable sales growth.
  • Effectively utilize Hershey’s and customers analytical tools (e.g. AFS, PlanEx (future), IRI, retailer systems, Atlas, etc.) and processes to drive profitable and predictable sales results
  • Build and maintain appropriate sales plans in AFS & eventually PlanEx
  • Create annual merchandising plans, managing trade fund budget including clearing deductions, and processing invoices and post-audits
  • Evolve Joint Business Plans for all Divisions
  • Conduct Kroger Divisional KDM appointments, partnering with Hershey support sharing in growth strategies
  • Develop Kroger Divisional Strategic Partnerships beyond the buying desk
  • Monitor and control customer expenses to include waste and supply chain costs
  • Achieve appropriate levels of account penetration
  • Work collaboratively across all Kroger Director, CSEs, Category Management, Sales Planning, Supply Chain, Omni, Finance and other cross functional partners





  • Bachelor's degree required


  • At least 5-6 years relevant sales experience  
  • Prior Kroger corporate and/or divisional experience is preferred



  • 20% to 50% travel required
