Senior Manager, Product Spend Intelligence

Summary:

Hershey is looking for a technical Senior Product Manager to own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of the technology that enables our spend intelligence capabilities. This includes building the vision for how we can better utilize technology to improve and accelerate business decisioning to optimize investments that drive in market activation (e.g. marketing, media, trade, etc.). This role will require working closely with cross-functional technical teams and leaders from various functions of the business, including but not limited to planning, finance, commercial, and marketing. We have the rough blueprint for the defined products but are looking for someone excited to take that blueprint and build a clear vision & roadmap to drive the multi-year execution. This role will have clear expectations of delivering tangible business value.  These products will be a core capability to help drive the right topline outcomes for the company. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and communicate in partnership with business stakeholders the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with overall business and technical goals for spend management capabilities 

  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, translating technical details into business language and vice versa to ensure all parties are aligned 

  • Partner with our Enterprise Data & AI teams to improve business reporting & analytics 

  • Continuously collect and analyze data and product feedback to identify opportunities for product improvement 

  • Lead the design & implementation of key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor product value 

  • Collaborate with the product owners to ensure a clear understanding of requirements 

  • Collaborate with IS team to ensure product scalability, compliance, security, and integration 

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape, using this information to inform product strategy and roadmap 

  • Commit with stakeholders on incremental value being delivered through customer sales and trade optimization products (e.g. increased net sales, optimizing costs, etc.) 

  • Provides input throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product 

  • Enforces agile methodologies throughout projects, actively participates in sprint planning, manages the backlog, and guides through associated enterprise prioritization processes - further partnering with our  Transformation and cross-functional Portfolio Managers 

 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in product management  

  • Experience building & overseeing technology and analytics products 

  • Strong business/stakeholder relationship management skills 

  • Understanding on how spend decisions impact topline outcomes, ROI, and investment prioritization 

  • Strong problem-solving abilities. Possess the ability to start with ambiguous scenarios and drive a clear problem statement that articulates the value being added through technology enablement  

  • Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making 

  • Ability to write clear user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria and technical documentation 

  • Ability to align product strategy with long-term business goals 

  • Business fundamentals including financial management, metrics reporting, business process management, customer centricity, business analysis and problem solving 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, analytics, mathematics, or a STEM related field
