Hershey Salty Snack Company is currently hiring a Maintenance Lead in our Edgerton, KS facility. The lead position is an hourly position in a fast-paced production environment. This person will work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager to ensure timelines are met and guidelines are followed. They will assist with the assembly of equipment as it arrives, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot production equipment. The Lead will also help with the completion of any schedule or unscheduled work orders.
 

Shift:

 

  • M-F, 2 pm to 10:30 pm
  • We require that you be flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.
  • $2 shift differential provided for night shift

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversees maintenance and coordinate with production in the absence of Manager or Supervisor.
  • Train and monitor all maintenance employees on shift to ensure that proper production, GMP’s and Safety guidelines are followed.
  • Complete special projects as assigned with the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Make decisions and react quickly to problems.
  • Lead and give direction to maintenance employees in the plant.
  • Complete all reports and turn in all paperwork in a timely manner daily.
  • Attend all safety meetings and follows proper safety procedures
  • Perform minor and major maintenance duties as needed in supporting production machinery
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments as necessary
  • Help oversee work of outside contractors
  • Conduct emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures on equipment on a scheduled basis
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Manage tools in the facility and ensure they are kept and returned to the right place
  • Clear understanding of OSHA requirements and food industry GMP’s
  • Work independently as well as with other personnel and management
  • Represent self and company in a professional and positive manner
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
     

Position Qualifications:

 

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair required
  • Knowledgeable in the use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals and blueprints
  • Experience using computer, including experience with ERP system, i.e. SAP
  • Preferred experience in a fast paced food manufacturing environment
  • Preference given to candidates with a 2-year associate degree in electromechanical systems
  • Robotics and control experience a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
     

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

 

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand on your feet for an entire shift
  • Exposed to food production environment and warehouse environment which may involve noise and fluctuating temperatures.
