Plant Controller

Job Location: Edgerton, KS 

 

 

Summary:

Provide plant accounting, policies & controls oversight for the three Kansas plants.  This includes oversight of month end close processes, inventories, and fixed assets.  Direct the plant's financial operations and assist Plant Management through participation in daily meetings, continuous improvement audit reviews and BOM audit reviews.  Manage the support of plant operations and provide for a sound internal financial controls environment. The position requires a broad business perspective and must work effectively within a team environment to provide actionable information and services to plant and corporate departments.


 Responsibilities:

Plant Performance Monitoring

  • Plant and line performance monitoring and control. Assure proper monitoring and financial performance of the Plant is accomplished.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Finance to provide the reporting and analysis of the Plant’s financial and inventory monthly performance.

Budgets & Planning/Outlook

  • Provide actuals reporting and insight to support Supply Chain Finance

Guidance and Oversight

  • Direct and oversee accounting and purchasing activities to include: payroll oversight, monthly accounting close, inventory reconciliation and verification, fixed assets oversight, cost accounting, and procurement of materials.

Financial Controls

  • Develops and executes control procedures to ensure the integrity of plant financial records and safeguarding of plant assets. This includes regular testing and reviews to ensure proper goods receipts, finished goods shipments, production reporting, cash management, account reconciliation’s, material & parts obsolescence, inventory and fixed asset accounting.

Capital Control

  • Review capital projects for compliance with Corporate Capital Control Policies and for adequate clarity of justification, consistent with the facilities’ planned direction for investment of capital resources.  Provide analysis for business growth and margin improvements.


 Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and corporate financial policies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and leadership skills, ability to work with and/or supervise a variety of people.
  • Strong computer skills (Advanced Excel and PowerPoint)
  • SAP experience preferred


 Education/Certification:

  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • CMA, or CPA preferred


Experience:

  • At least 8 years of manufacturing or related accounting experience required
