Job Summary

The Production Lead position is an hourly position in a fast-paced environment.  The position is responsible for maintaining a team environment, training and mentoring new hires, tracking accurate packaging and storage of food products, cleaning the work area, following all health and safety regulations, and other assigned duties.

Job Duties Include

• Follow all SOPs and SSOPs to keep consistent product quality
• Fill out all required paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
• Leads and directs the team on the task to be met each day
• Coach new employees on important aspects of the business (quality, safety, sanitation, productivity)
• Follow all FDA health and OSHA safety regulations
• Maintain good attendance and set example for the team to do the same
• Setup the line and team for success each day and assist with production line as necessary
• Hit and exceed daily targets
• Maintain good communication with the team
• Ensure that all documentation is filled out accurately at each step of the process
• Train new employees on the production line
• Understand equipment and the systems involved with running it
• Feed items onto equipment for processing and run equipment
• Ensure the team is working safely with equipment
• Measure pretzels to go in correct bag sizes and ensure that weights, seals, and box counts are accurate and up to standard
• Recognize and pull inadequate product off the line
• Record inventory counts of bags processed
• Understand the process of entering and tracking inventory
• Ensure that any equipment malfunction is immediately reported and fixed
• Make sure all equipment is turned off at the end of shift
• Ensure the area is clean and sanitized correctly and up to standard at the end of each shift
• Ensure that finished product is stored correctly
• Assist Supervisor in tracking attendance and timely arrival of employee’s in your work area
• Print necessary labels for each day’s work orders

• Engage in project and process improvements
• Perform daily quality inspections throughout the plant in all areas (processing, packaging, shipping, warehouse)

• Other duties as assigned

• Be a self-starter; ability to work independently as well as with other personnel and management
• Represent self and company in a professional and positive manner
• Attend required company meetings and training and participate in constructive discussion
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
• Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of Dot’s Pretzels
• Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
• Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to multitask and communicate effectively.
• Previous lead or supervisor experience preferred but not required.
• Prior experience in bakeries or industrial kitchens preferred but not required
• Ability to run a forklift is preferred but not required
• Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
• Microsoft Office applications experience, including Excel, Word and Outlook
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift 45 pounds repetitively
• Ability to bend, twist, and stand on your feet for an entire shift
• Exposed to food production environment and warehouse environment which may involve noise and fluctuating temperatures.
