About the Role:

We are looking for a Financial Operations Supervisor – Plant Controllership to join our Plant Finance team in El Salto, Jalisco. The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional with strong manufacturing finance and cost accounting experience, able to translate financial data into clear business insights, partner closely with Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams, lead people, and drive financial discipline in a dynamic plant environment. This role is key to ensuring manufacturing cost integrity, supporting month-end closing, strengthening internal controls, and providing timely, actionable analysis for operational and business decision-making.

 

Responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee manufacturing cost accounting activities, including standard costing, actual costing, cost runs, and cost variance analysis.

- Maintain and validate key costing elements such as BOMs, routings, cost sheets, cost centers, labor rates, and overhead rates in partnership with Engineering, Production, and Operations teams.

- Supervise the monthly cost close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clear explanations of variances related to efficiency, volume, mix, absorption, and manufacturing performance.

- Prepare and communicate financial bridges versus budget, forecast, and prior periods, providing clear insights to finance and non-finance stakeholders.

- Support plant controllership activities, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, SOX controls, internal control requirements, and audit standards.

- Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain Finance, FP&A, and Operations teams to analyze margins, productivity, conversion costs, capacity, inventory performance, scrap, rework, waste, and cost-saving opportunities.

- Coordinate plant budgeting and forecasting processes related to manufacturing costs, plant expenses, volume assumptions, capacity scenarios, and sensitivity analysis.

- Monitor inventory valuation, physical-to-book differences, inventory adjustments, and audit findings to support accurate reporting and strong financial controls.

- Identify process improvement opportunities and quantify financial impacts to support operational efficiency and working capital optimization.

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of cost analysts, ensuring strong technical execution, accountability, and continuous development.

- Act as a finance business partner to the plant leadership team by bringing financial discipline, analytical thinking, and fact-based recommendations to operational discussions.

 

Requirements | Mandatory Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

- Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing finance, cost accounting, plant controlling, or similar finance roles within a manufacturing environment.

- Advanced English level, with the ability to communicate effectively with regional and global stakeholders.

- Previous people leadership experience is required; minimum 1–2 years leading, coaching, or supervising a team.

- Strong understanding of standard costing, cost variances, inventory valuation, manufacturing costs, internal controls, and audit processes.

- Advanced Excel skills are required, including strong data analysis, financial modeling, reconciliations, pivot tables, lookups, and large data set management.

- Experience working with ERP systems; SAP S/4HANA experience is highly preferred.

- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes, connect operational drivers to financial results, and provide actionable recommendations.

- Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and practical way to non-finance stakeholders.

- Strong sense of urgency, ownership, integrity, and discipline in financial controls and compliance.

This role is based at our El Salto plant, a strategic manufacturing site where Finance partners closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance leaders to support decisions that impact cost, efficiency, productivity, and overall plant performance.
