Director IT Digital Manufacturing/Supply Chain

Note: Hershey, PA preferred but will consider remote with travel as needed to Hershey and various locations throughout the U.S.

 

The Director of Manufacturing and Supply Chain reports to the Senior Director Finance, HR and Supply Chain, IS. This is a new position for our growing business and will be responsible for managing five direct reports. The Director will also be responsible for the following:

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities:  
Summary of major duties:

 

- Work with Supply Chain leadership team to align on strategic information technology priorities, delivering and managing on an IT 3–5 year strategic roadmap for Digital Manufacturing and Supply Chain
- Developing and nurturing business partner relationships, linkage to business strategies.  Jointly defining business objectives and goals, developing business cases, evaluating current technologies, communicating new technology capabilities, and identify process improvement opportunities
- Lead large Global Enterprise-wide Digital Manufacturing and Supply Chain Systems initiatives focused on Manufacturing Automation/Supply Chain Digitalization across Hershey’s entire Network. This initiative will be across Hershey’s current and future networks
- Identify, negotiate, contract, and manage external vendor partners, ensuring value is delivered to the organization as an augmentation of internal capabilities
- Overseeing the assessment of the technical and business fitness of the application portfolio and their associated costs and risks

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:  
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or Business Administration

Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration a plus

 

 

Experience

Preferred Experience with S4 Extended Warehouse Management, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Integration with machine level automation and robotics, manufacturing capabilities such as quality, predictive maintenance, and advanced planning technologies

Strong supply chain end to end business knowledge across planning, manufacturing operations, and manufacturing automation

Managing a team of at least 5 members in application development, implementation or management.

15 years of experience in Manufacturing/Supply Chain project delivery

10 years of demonstrated leadership experience building cross-organizational consensus with exposure to technology providers and/or business clients

10 years of demonstrated experience managing a high-performing, cohesive team

10 years of demonstrated experience in liaising with middle and senior management in a Global organization for a mid-tier multinational organization


Skills

Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key concepts and communicate effectively with technical staff, business stakeholders and senior management

Proven ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical people to enhance understanding and drive to decisions that lead to positive outcomes

Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in a matrix-management environment (as well as external vendors and service providers) to ensure that segregation and overlapping roles are identified and coordinated

Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources
Strong analytical, data processing and problem-solving skills

 

Knowledge
Manufacturing and Supply Chain digital strategy and execution applicable to applications, costs and risks
IT contracts and their likely cost implications
Engagement with procurement and legal contract advisors for additional information
IT applications, operations, service and support organizations
Data processing, analysis and quality management tools
Development and implementation of processes and policies
