Portfolio Mgr
The Portfolio Manager is responsible for the governance, prioritization, and execution of a portfolio of IT, digital, and business transformation projects. This role ensures that project investments align with strategic goals and deliver business value, resources are effectively utilized, and risks are managed proactively. Collaborates with executives, project managers, and business stakeholders to drive decision-making and optimize project outcomes.
Responsibilities / Outcomes
- Prioritize, track and maximize overall value creation of IT Portfolio.
- Enterprise Technology Reporting: Own the day-to-day reporting process to ensure information is accurate and timely for executive decision-making.
- Project Management Tool Administration: Manage all documentation and maintain the project management tool, including user setup and creating group pages.
- Collaboration and Liaison: Work closely with technology leads to ensure activities, issues, and risks are tracked and escalated appropriately.
- Status and Performance Reporting: Provide a comprehensive view of the status and performance of all enterprise technology objectives in line with agreed reporting practices.
- Governance Board Content Creation: Develop and review content for various governance boards, such as the Technology Board and the Portfolio & Program Management Committee.
Scope (Key Deliverables)
- Resource Allocation: Coordinate and manage resource allocation for IT projects to ensure optimal utilization.
- Reports and Dashboards: Regular updates on project progress, status, and performance metrics.
- Project Documentation: Comprehensive records of project activities, issues, risks, and resolutions.
- User Setup and Group Pages: Configurations and maintenance of user accounts and group pages within the project management tool.
- Governance Board Content: Detailed presentations and reports for governance boards.
- Risk and Issue Logs: Documented logs of identified risks and issues, along with mitigation plans.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Financial acumen: ability to understand and manage a business P&L and the frameworks for how revenue, cost savings, and cash benefits are realized
- Strategic Thinking and Business Acumen: The ability to understand the organization's goals and align project activities with strategic objectives.
- Project Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent skills in engaging and managing relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to analyze complex data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Experience & Education
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- Experience: 10-12 years of experience in IT portfolio management, project management, or a related field. Experience in the CPG industry is highly desirable.
- Certifications: Advanced certifications such as PMP, PMI, or PRINCE2 are highly desirable.
