Sr Human Resources / HR Coordinator

Summary:
The Hershey Company Hazleton plant is a 317,000 square foot Union plant with about 587 full-time employees.
This position is responsible for administrative support for the HR Team and plant employees. This will involve organizing and preparing plant communications, recruiting, and onboarding support & coordination, SAP entry and coordinating in-house meetings. This position serves as the primary contact for employees, retirees, and applicable external vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a liaison between Corporate Communications and plant employees
- Supports plant wide communications including assisting with development of communications, dissemination of all plant wide communications and posting communications in common areas
- Provides administrative support to Human Resources activities such as SAP data entry and reporting, attendance tracking, leave of absence tracking, prepares and coordinates discipline action filing, and other projects as assigned
- Manages all hourly unemployment compensation claims
- Provides excellent customer service to employees by addressing HR questions, and documenting employee concerns in a timely manner
- Escalates matters when necessary to appropriate personnel
- Drives employee engagement by coordinating plant engagement initiatives, including serving as a key member of all culture related Teams
- Coordinates recruiting activities, including interview processes to ensure candidates are provided with pertinent information about the positions available
- Attends job fairs and partners with local schools, community organizations and career events to recruit candidates
- Coordinates candidate onboarding and orientation for hourly and salaried workforce to ensure a positive transition for new hires
- Monitors hourly new hire probation periods and coordinates appropriate actions
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
- Knowledge of Human Resources practices and Employment law relative to a Manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of recruiting and screening practices
- Analytical skills to interpret policy

- Knowledge of unemployment processing and claims

- Computer skills - EXCEL, WORD, PowerPoint, SAP, Outlook
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associates / Bachelor's degree (or in process of obtaining) in HR / Business related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources related role preferred
- Previous experience building Human Resource capabilities, employee relations, staffing or training
