Hourly Pay Rate: $16.00 or more based on experience

This position is Tuesday through Friday only, with no weekends or holidays. This position is for approx. 22 hours per week. This is a part-time position located in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. The company will not provide relocation assistance or other employment benefits for this position. Employee Store Clerk services the needs of the employees and the business guests visiting the facilities each day. The Employee Store Clerk strives to offer co-workers and guests great customer service and product selection. Employee Store Clerk will provide prompt and courteous service to our customers. Employee Store Clerk is approachable, seeks to understand our customers’ needs, and provides exceptional customer service.

 

Basic duties:

Stocking shelves, welcoming and greeting customers, answering questions, answering the phone, pricing and displaying merchandise, checking product freshness codes, restocking, operating a cash register, and performing the end-of-day cash drawer closing process. The Employee Store Clerk will process and distribute the plant donation requests. The required skills will be learned primarily through on-the-job training.

There are two shifts in the Company Store. One morning shift and one afternoon shift.

Major Duties/ Responsibilities: 

Must demonstrate strong customer service skills

Must open the store on time and keep the store looking neat

Assist customers with purchases

Restock shelves and maintain a clean work area

Operate a cash register and give accurate change

Perform the end-of-day cash drawer closing

Process and distribute plant donation requests

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

Must maintain a neat appearance

Must have customer service skills

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Must have problem-solving skills

Leadership/Ability to take initiative

General retail knowledge is a plus

Must be able to walk or stand for 5-8 hours

Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry 40-50 pounds; may require overhead lifting. Requires bending, stooping, and twisting

Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, fellow co-workers, and function effectively as part of a team Must be able to work at a fast pace and remain calm

Must have basic math skills

Must be able to operate a cash register and give accurate change

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required

Experience: Retail Sales work experience is preferred but not required
