Reliability Lead

Summary:

The Reliability Lead is responsible for the overall asset reliability and maintenance of production line(s) and/or process areas within the assigned Business Unit.  This includes budgetary responsibility of parts, labor and at times, capital.  They will lead the implementation and execution of maintenance strategies, processes and improvement activities aligned with the Hershey Lean Preventative Maintenance Pillar.

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Asset Reliability Lifecycle – Management of the maintenance planning and scheduling processes, through work-order (SAP) development, prioritization, planning, scheduling, execution and feedback analysis.  Technical leadership of technician work execution, problem solving, and resolution development.
  • Reliability Engineering – Analysis of asset data to drive improvement in maintenance work-plans and asset reliability.
  • Capital Management – Development, execution and support of capital solutions for asset improvement and sustainability, including safety, quality and new product support.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: 

  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), for the management of workorder lifecycle and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and utilization of preventative and predictive maintenance measures; experience with continuous improvement processes.
  • Effective communication and leadership of technical and operational personnel; ability to coach results following all safety, quality and productivity policies and procedures.
  • Collaborative approach to manage technical responsibilities within the Business Unit team, coordinating activities with productivity requirements.
  • Assist in development and prioritization of plant 5 Year Capital plan, based on asset sustainability and process improvement opportunities in respective area.
  • Technical manufacturing experience required; consumer packaged goods or food and beverage experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of required business objectives, including safety and quality requirements, when developing technical solutions.

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred OR relevant experience.

  • A minimum of 5 years of maintenance, planning or relevant technical experience.

 

Preferred Skills / Attributes:

  • Practical knowledge and relevant experience in manufacturing systems, automation and controls.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Familiarity and experience with manufacturing lean or TPM processes.
  • Experience with reliability based preventative maintenance plans.
