Summary of Role:
The Analyst, Commerce Insights & Analytics supports the measurement, reporting, and insight generation for Hershey’s omnichannel commerce and retail media initiatives. This role plays a critical part in connecting the dots between retail media investments, shopper behavior, and sales performance across eCommerce and brick-and-mortar retail environments. The ideal candidate is data-curious, detail-oriented, and eager to support analytics that improve campaign performance, inform strategic decisions, and uncover opportunities to drive conversion at the digital and physical shelf. This position works closely with Commerce, Sales, Media, and Shopper Marketing teams to ensure analytics are integrated into planning and post-campaign evaluation.
Role Responsibilities:
- Performance Reporting & Dashboard: Build and maintain recurring reports and dashboards to track media effectiveness, ROAS, conversion, and shopper engagement across key retail partners. Support updates to internal performance tools using Excel, Power BI, or other visualization platforms
- Retail Media & Sales Data Integration: Assist in collecting and synthesizing data from RMNs (Amazon, Walmart Connect, Kroger, Instacart, etc.), sales portals, and syndicated sources (Circana, NielsenIQ). Help identify correlations between media activity and retail performance at the brand, campaign, or retailer level
- Campaign Measurement Support: Contribute to campaign wrap-ups by compiling performance metrics, retailer feedback, and shopper response. Support test-and-learn programs by helping track variables and analyze performance against control groups
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Commerce Media, Sales, and Shopper Marketing teams to align on reporting requirements and campaign objectives. Partner with internal teams and agency partners to ensure consistent data inputs and definitions
- Insights Generation & Communication: Translate data into clear summaries and highlight key insights and implications for internal stakeholders. Help identify opportunities to improve investment efficiency and optimize campaign performance
Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Strong Excel and analytical skills; familiarity with visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus
- Understanding of retail media platforms and eCommerce metrics
- Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy and insight generation
- Strong communication skills, especially in distilling data into clear, actionable takeaways
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with retail data (Amazon Brand Analytics, Walmart Luminate, Circana, etc.) preferred
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education –
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Economics, or a related field
- Experience –
- At least 1-3 years of experience in marketing analytics, eCommerce reporting, or shopper insights
- CPG, agency, or retail experience is a plus
