Assistant Manager, Warehouse (Hershey's Chocolate World)

Summary of Role:
This role supervises hourly and entry-level team members performing routine warehouse and logistics tasks within the Hershey’s Chocolate World (HCW) warehouse. The position ensures work assignments are completed safely, accurately, and according to established procedures to support daily warehouse operations. It is responsible for coordinating workflow, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress while escalating more complex issues to leadership. The role maintains communication within the department to support operational readiness and service expectations. It contributes to consistent execution of shipping, receiving, replenishment, and inventory control activities aligned with Logistics
Role Responsibilities:
HCW Warehouse Operations
Leads day-to-day operations of the HCW warehouse.
- Provides direction, coaching and mentoring to the warehouse staff. Coordinates and communicates with operational partners to ensure businesses are supported appropriately.
- Position ensures all merchandise is received and located in a timely manner. Position oversees all warehouse functions such as order processing, deliveries, inbound and outbound shipping, deliveries, bin management, product rotation, safety and sanitation.
- Position also ensures that HCW daily replenishment processes are completed per established timeframes, and that the retail sales floor presents a fully stocked, neat, and vibrant appearance.
- Resposible for overall hiring, scheduling, and training of warehouse team. Promotes a culture of customer service and delivers exemplary service to internal and external customers. Actively works to engage the warehouse team in the goals of the business.
- Schedules all warehouse team members to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained on all shifts to support the business need.
Merchandise Replenishment for US HCW Retail Stores
Manages the replenishment and warehousing of merchandise for THE US Owned retail stores.
- Coordinates logistics from the HCW Warehouse to the retail stores based on required delivery schedules.
- Works directly with THC Supply Team, customer service and Distribution Centers to ensure appropriate levels of inventory are maintained.
- Collaborates and communicates with store leadership to manage “out of stocks” and discontinued items.
Financial
Utilizes system resources to monitor, manage, and support optimal levels of merchandise.
- Monitor KPI’s for inventory levels, inventory turns, and inventory aging to achieve optimal merchandise allocation both within the warehouse and on the retail sales floor.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain team to maximize space and coordinate receipts for efficient utilization of the existing space
Operational Safety Governance
This responsibility owns the daily execution of safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance practices within the warehouse. It continuously evaluates work processes, equipment operation, and team behaviors to identify risks, takes immediate corrective action, and escalates emerging hazards to management. It ensures team members receive proper safety instruction, follow required PPE and equipment protocols, and participate in safety audits and incident prevention activities to maintain a safe and compliant operation.

- Work Schedule –Must work weekends and holidays. Work hours may vary based on seasonal business needs. Individual may be required to work any shift.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education –
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience –
- At least 3-5 years in warehouse or logistics operations
- Prior team lead or informal leadership experience preferred.
