Brand Analyst, Jolly Rancher Demand Creation Strategy
The Sweets and Refreshment Demand Creation Strategy (DCS) team is responsible for driving innovation, brand strategy, and whitespace growth across Hershey’s sweets and refreshment categories. The team leads long-term growth for brands including Jolly Rancher, Twizzlers, Sour Strips, Ice Breakers, and Bubble Yum.
This Brand Analyst will be specifically responsible for supporting Jolly Rancher Demand Creation Strategy on key projects, analyses, and business priorities. Their responsibilities will involve supporting Associate Brand Managers (ABMs) and Brand Managers (BMs) in strategic and day-to-day marketing work. This role offers a holistic introduction to marketing and the opportunity to build a diverse skill set
The ideal candidate will be effective in the following areas from day one:
- Project management: Assist in innovation project management (with BM and ABM) and collaborate with cross functional partners including R&D, brand teams, finance, and operations.
- Retail Analysis: Analyze syndicated data sources (Circana, Numerator, etc.) to assist in understanding performance of Hershey and competitive brands and key drivers of performance.
- Trend Identification: Utilize trend tracking via tools like Innova/Datassentials and monitor internal metrics to stay on top of social media and product trends to inspire future innovations.
- Innovation Concept Development: Lead creation of concept renders and testing with 3rd party agencies and internal partners
- Ideation support and coordination: Coordinate with agencies (including AI partners) through RFP and setup and ensure all deliverables are received
- Initiative trackers: Provide assistance in updating initiative trackers (ex. Design updates for Innovation, Budgeting, and other program management as needed)
- General Team Support: Support team needs such as strategic planning materials, dashboard creation, or slide development
Education: Bachelor's degree required (preferably Business, Commerce, or Data Analysis)
Experience/Skills:
- Strong analytical ability; able to use multiple sources of data and put together data visualizations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong marketing, finance, and commercial understanding and intuition
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional business units
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint); ability to learn new systems
- Analytical and project management experience is a plus.
- Experience with food and beverage project development is also a plus.
