Director IT Portfolio Commercial Management

Note: This position is hybrid and can be located in our Frisco, TX office or within driveable distance to Hershey, PA.

 

The Director Commercial Portfolio Manager will oversee the management and optimization of the IT project/product portfolio within Commercial IT, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. This role involves managing and supporting the evaluation of IT products to maximize value and support organizational goals. They will create and manage CapEx and OpEx budgets for commercial technology spend. They will also monitor financial performance of the Commercial IT portfolio, including financial forecasts and reporting. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. 

 

Accountabilities:

1.    Strategic Alignment: Support the evaluation and prioritization of IT projects/products based on their alignment with business goals and strategies in the Commercial IT space.
2.    Portfolio Management: Implement and manage the IT project/product portfolio and annual operating plan, ensuring it stays within budget and on schedule.
3.    Performance Tracking: Track and analyze the performance of the IT portfolio, including risk and return assessments.
4.    Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders to identify new opportunities and manage the portfolio effectively.
5.    Financial Management: Create and manage CapEx and OpEx budgets for commercial technology spend. Monitor financial performance of the Commercial IT portfolio, including financial forecasts and reporting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


⦁    Project Management: Strong understanding of IT project management methodologies and frameworks.

⦁    Financial Skills: ability to manage operating and capital expense plans as well as track performance, forecasts, etc.

 

Experience and Education

 

⦁    Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

⦁    Experience: At least 7 years of experience in IT portfolio management, project management, or a related field, with 3+ years in a managerial role. Experience in the CPG industry is highly desirable.

⦁    Certifications: Relevant certifications in project management or portfolio management (e.g., PMP, PgMP) are a plus.
