Role Overview
The Director, Salty Strategy leads strategic thinking, direction setting, and complex problem solving to enable Hershey’s Salty snacks strategic growth agenda as well as business model innovation as a pursuit of this agenda. Reporting to the President of Salty, he/she will oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously and will need to operate at both a detailed, analytical level and a broad, strategic, general manager level. This role will also provide strategic direction and problem solving for our emerging growth areas and M&A and is responsible for supporting the strategic initiatives and operational efficiency of the salty snacks division. This role involves acting as a key advisor to the President of Salty, driving strategic projects, and ensure the IBM process is running efficiently.
Accountabilities
Top 5 Core Responsibilities / Outcomes Expected
- Strategic Planning/Emerging Growth Strategy: Assist in the development and execution of strategic plans to drive growth and profitability in the salty snacks category, developing the 3-year Salty Division Strategic plan and the 3-year Strategic plan and direction for the emerging growth areas (including, but not limited to, eCommerce and emerging brands) of the business annually
- M&A: Setting M&A strategy and evaluating new M&A and business development opportunities in partnership with the M&A team
- Developing executive-level presentations for the President Salty Snacks and CEO (EC updates, Board presentations, external speaking engagements, etc.)
- Executive Support: Provide high-level support to senior leadership, including preparing reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations as well as running the IBM process for Salty, Serve as the Project Lead for all strategic initiatives, including detailing the problem, organizing a cross-functional team, and proposing and managing a timely analysis with predetermined milestones.
- Provide the vision and leadership in his or her area of responsibility including recommending future strategies and plans to senior management and communicating the direction for the business to the managers that report directly and indirectly to them.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance metrics to inform strategic decisions and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement effective business strategies.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire cross-functional teams.
Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis, market research, and performance metrics.
Education & Experience:
Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in a strategic or leadership role within the CPG industry, with a focus on salty snacks or similar categories.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
