This is a full-time hourly position located in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The company will not provide relocation assistance.

 

Hershey’s Chocolate World’s Entertainment Senior Area Coordinator supports the Attractions and Entertainment function of Hershey’s Chocolate World which includes performing as an Actor for a live audience in Hershey’s Unwrapped and Hershey’s Great Candy Expedition (HGCE) as well as performing station host duties. Actors facilitate the progression of the Hershey’s Unwrapped show through the portrayal of characters as guests sample a variety of Hershey’s products. The Conductor in Hershey’s Great Candy Expedition remain “in character” with our guests in the Station and memorize lines that are directed at an animated character on the Train. The Station Host team is responsible for seating guests, distributing samples, and performing general housekeeping of the theater. In addition to engaging with our guests, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Hershey’s Unwrapped and HGCE which includes creating performer rotations, monitoring break schedules, ordering supplies, motivating team members, training actors for Unwrapped and the Conductor roles, training Station Hosts, assisting with wardrobe and prop maintenance/care, and handling guest issues that arise. This role partners with the Ticketing Team and Senior Assistant Supervisors of Attractions on show schedules and capacities to meet demand. This position will perform other related duties in the Attractions’ Department in order to meet business needs.

 

This position requires a focus on exceptional customer service and expects the Senior Area Coordinator to be approachable, courteous, and knowledgeable about our products, be able to clearly communicate with guests and assist them with questions, as well as provide general information to guests with a high level of professionalism.

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day operations of Hershey’s Unwrapped and HGCE
  • Act as a main point of contact for Hershey’s Unwrapped and HGCE
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Hershey’s attractions
  • Train assistants, hosts, and performers on daily operations and task responsibilities
  • Coordinate break schedules to ensure enforcement of Child Labor Laws
  • Create and maintain team member rotations to ensure proper coverage of shows
  • Assist with rehearsals of all actors, Conductors, and hosts
  • Keep team members and leaders informed of Attractions’ operations
  • Partner with the Scheduling Team and Entertainment Manager to ensure proper staffing levels
  • Greet all guests upon arrival and always provide exceptional customer service
  • Partner with leaders to problem solve issues that arise with the show
  • Partner with Group Sales on group visits
  • Collaborate with Maintenance to resolve and report technical issues
  • Maintain the employee training guide for all new team members
  • Engage with guests and handles issues that arise during the show
  • Partner with Warehouse to order needed supplies
  • Assist with costume/wardrobe laundry maintenance and prop maintenance as needed
  • Coordinate daily cleaning of Hershey’s Unwrapped and HGCE

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

 

  • Acting and public speaking skills
  • Must be able to memorize scripts and improvise when needed
  • Must be capable of vocal performance for a period of 20-25 minutes
  • Must be able to perform in front of a large audience of up to 250 guests
  • Must be able to perform assigned scripts 10-15 times per 8-hour shift
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and customer service skills Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interact with all levels of people
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work with large crowds in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong computer skills

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:     High school diploma or GED equivalent is required

Experience:  1 year of acting and public speaking experience is required
