Future Opportunities Intern Computer Systems (Summer 2024)

Location: Stuarts Draft, VA 

Duration:  Summer 2024 (possible extension to Fall 2024 if student's schedule allows for additional part time work)

Computer Systems Intern

The Hershey Company in Stuarts Draft, VA is seeking a Computer Systems intern for the Summer 20234 term.   Depending on the student’s performance and future plant needs, the internship could span multiple semesters as a Co-Op work opportunity, continuing on an alternating semester basis for up to three work terms which would provide the student with up to 1 year of work experience prior to graduation. This is a paid position and hourly rate will depend on student's year in their degree program. A housing stipend is provided as well for those who qualify. 

The Stuarts Draft facility is open to candidates who are only able to work during the Summer term, but would be open to extending the opportunity through the Fall term as well, assuming successful performance during the Summer.  Students who are certain they wish to Co-Op during these terms are also encouraged to apply.  Discussions with academic advisors, family, etc. should occur before applying to this position. 

Summary: 

• The Computer Systems Intern would support our local IT Department in providing technical assistance, maintaining computer systems, and configuring hardware.  Successful candidates will be able to assist with implementation of new technology, support and troubleshoot existing hardware/software and support other team members.  Specific responsibilities will include installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer systems, hardware, and software.  Monitor existing systems and troubleshoot any issues.  Follow established procedures and processes for computer maintenance.  This is an excellent opportunity to gain meaningful, professional work experience while earning money for college.

Requirements: 

• Must be an undergraduate student majoring in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar/equivalent degree programs.   

• Comp TIA Certifications would be considered  

• GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred 

• A valid Drivers’ License and a means of reliable transportation
