Maintenance Technician, Hershey Chocolate World (2nd shift)

Summary:  

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the facilities equipment, fixtures, and general structure, along with managing customer and facility management expectations. This includes any specialized equipment that may be associated with the area of work.  Technician will analyze and eliminate problems using expert technical knowledge in the areas stated above. Support and embrace programs and policies within the facility affecting maintenance, life safety and OSHA regulations. The Technician must work well in a team environment and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  Provide superior internal and external customer service support to all customers in The Hershey Experience Facilities.  Incumbent should be versed in a minimum of one trade and the willingness and ability to learn other trades.  This position is salaried and not exempt from FLSA.  This position is 2nd Shift (2-1030pm and includes weekends)

 

Summary of major duties:
Maintenance Execution

• Perform maintenance tasks as directed by Maintenance Management..
• Determine necessary parts and equipment to accomplish tasks and ensure they are on-hand prior to commencing work.
• Ensure maintenance efforts meet all aspects of safety.  This includes, but is not limited to, personal safety, food preparation and service safety, guest safety, etc.
•  Maintain building, food service/preparation and attraction equipment to maximize Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF).
• Perform the Preventive Maintenance of cognizant equipment to ensure the most effective balance between operational efficiency and cost-to-maintain.
• Ensure an adequate supply of consumables for both maintenance tasks and PPE.
• Work with, and as necessary direct contracted labor to optimize cost vs. productivity.
 Training/Team Role, Development & Coaching
• Maintain training and certifications up to date 
• Develop a personal and professional goals and a plan to accomplish such.
• Actively coach other department personnel in cognizant disciplines to promote their safety.
Capital Equipment 
• Participate in the planning and sourcing of Capital Assets during project design.  Provide recommendations during this process to maximize commonality of spares, reduce operating costs, and increase MTBF.
• Maintain an inventory of Capital Equipment assets, their locations, conditions, etc. 
• Ensure Capital assets are properly documented when procured and disposed of.


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:  
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required. 
• Strong background in commercial electrical troubleshooting and repair
• Solid mix of tradecraft skills including carpentry, mechanical, electrical and HVAC.
• Cross-functional team skills and the ability to effectively function in a diverse group of peers.
• Compliance experience with OSHA, NEC, NFPA, ICC and others as required.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:  
Education:    

• Certificate from an accredited industrial trade school in a relevant field is recommended.  

Experience:    
• At least 3 years in an industrial maintenance environment
• Experience in industrial electrical trades a plus
• NFPA70E and OSHA10 for General Industry a plus
• Proven ability to partner with stakeholders and peers to safely produce efficient results with minimal operational disruption
