Summary: 

 

The Enterprise Data organization drives value for Hershey by providing high-quality, well governed data to the Enterprise for analytics and decision-making. 

 

The manager within Data Governance will be responsible for working with the stakeholder and external partners to build and deploy the metadata management capabilities within the data catalog and data marketplace. The Data Gov. Manager would work with the data owners/stewards to drive metadata data curation (technical and business), keep assets in data catalog and marketplace. Monitor data catalog and marketplace adoption. In addition, the manager will also collaborate with stakeholders especially Data protection, data privacy and compliance to drive the data enablement process and enforce policies and procedures that ensure data is used and maintained properly.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:  

 

Lead Data Catalog and Marketplace capability building:

Work closely with stakeholders to understand the platform enhancement needs, closely partner with the platform vendor (Informatica) to coordinate the platform development

 

Lead Metadata Management processes:

Collaborate with Data owners/stewards to drive Metadata Data curation (technical and business) and keep assets in data catalog and marketplace up to date, Monitor Data catalog and marketplace adoption

 

Lead Data Enablement Forum:

Collaborate with stakeholders especially Data protection, data privacy and compliance to ensure data enablement process successfully supports the prerequisites for data protection and data privacy implementations

 

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: 

 

  • Experience in Data Governance initiatives specifically metadata management
  • Experience working with cross functional business teams to drive data management activities

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 

 

Education:        

 

  • Bachelor’s in a STEM degree
  • Master’s degree and/or related equivalent experience preferred

 

Experience:       

  • Mandatory 5 - 7+ years of progressive experience working with data, one to three of which has been focused in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide data management programs
  • 2+ years of experience working on data governance and metadata management within an enterprise environment using industry standard guiding principles and practices   
  • 2+ years of experience with data catalogs platforms. Experience with Informatica Data catalog and Marketplace would be preferred.
  • 1+ years with data governance experience within ERP platforms
  • 1+ years of demonstrated experience in data quality management
  • 1+ years of experience in a hybrid leadership role; making critical decisions while being able to execute against low-level deliverables of a project
  • Successfully led implementations of a data catalog and marketplace platform
  • Experience working cross-functionally at varying degrees of leadership in the business to build adoption and influence stakeholders for driving data governance in the organization
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholder
  • Experience working with Data protection and privacy in data governance lead capacity
  • Demonstrated data literacy/change management experience — understanding and communicating business use cases/outcomes, data sources and management concepts. The ability to translate among the languages used by executive, business, IT stakeholders
  • Experience with Master Data Management
  • Familiarity with Data Architecture practices
  • Experience with PII data in accordance with relevant laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Familiar with information management practices, system development lifecycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies, and ITIL frameworks
