Role Summary

This role serves as a strategic finance partner to the IS & HBP organization, shaping investment decisions across the technology and modernization portfolio from ideation through execution. The position drives business case development, strengthens financial governance, and enables leadership decision-making through clear insights on value creation, performance, and risk.

Operating as a highly visible individual contributor, this role influences outcomes through strong cross-functional partnership with SG&A, FP&A, Capital Administration, and IT leaders. The position provides strategic financial insight on technology spend, transformation initiatives, and operational drivers to improve transparency, prioritization, and business performance.

 

 

Role Responsibilities

  • P&L / Budget Ownership: Provides financial leadership and decision support across a technology spend environment exceeding $400M, with focus on value creation, investment discipline, and enterprise modernization outcomes.
  • Business Case Strategy & Governance: Lead the development, challenge, and validation of business cases for IS & HBP and enterprise modernization initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment, financial rigor, and disciplined investment decisions.
  • Value Realization & Performance Leadership: Drive visibility to the financial impact of technology and transformation initiatives; communicate performance versus plan, key risks, opportunities, and actions required to maximize value delivery.
  • Technology Spend Strategy & ITFM Support: Enable transparency and insight into technology spend by partnering with ITFM teams on cost structures, allocations, and total cost of ownership (TCO), supporting more informed resource allocation and prioritization.
  • Planning, Forecasting & Executive Insight: Support forecasting, AOP, and run-rate outlooks by translating variances and operational drivers into actionable recommendations. Provide insights that inform MBR discussions and leadership decision-making.
  • Enterprise Modernization & Strategic Initiatives: Lead and support the financial workstream for IS & HBP and enterprise modernization initiatives, including scenario modeling, investment analysis, and cross-functional decision support.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership & Influence: Partner across SG&A, FP&A, Capital Administration, and IS & HBP leadership to align assumptions, resolve complex issues, and drive accountability for business and financial outcomes in a matrixed environment.
  • Contracts, Capital Strategy & Process Improvement: Support the financial evaluation of vendor agreements and investment decisions, provide guidance on capital versus expense treatment, and advance reporting, data quality, and process standardization to strengthen financial stewardship.

 

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong strategic, analytical, and financial modeling capabilities, with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build credibility across functions, levels, and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience in business case development, cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, scenario planning, and value realization.
  • Understanding of IT Financial Management (ITFM), technology spend management, and enterprise transformation programs.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex issues for senior leadership audiences.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with focus on simplification, standardization, and stronger financial governance.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including development of executive-ready analysis and materials.

 

 

Experience & Education

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5–8+ years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, business partnership, or strategic decision support roles.
    • Experience supporting business cases, enterprise transformation initiatives, capital planning, or investment governance preferred.
    • Experience operating in a complex, matrixed, and global organization preferred.
