We are looking to fill our Marketing and Marketing COEs Learning and Development Manager role with an experienced, driven, commercially-minded, clutch collaborator with an insatiable need to build skills that lead to crushed goals.

The Marketing & Marketing COEs at Hershey include our core Marketing Function, Media, Brand Strategy and Design, Innovation and R&D, Holistic Insights and Strategic Growth Platforms, who aim to drive memorable brand creative, experiences, and sensory delight.


In this role, you will work with business leaders in the Marketing and Marketing COES organizations, Director of Talent and Org Performance, and other key stakeholders to identify skill and capability building along with providing strategic recommendations based on learning opportunities assessment.  You will be responsible for defining, leading, executing, and maintaining the needs assessment, engaging design, development, implementation, and measurement of learning solutions to meet the global needs of the Marketing & Marketing COEs organizations. 


The successful applicant will need a strong background in developing memorable and sticky learning solutions for a marketing and/or organization, performance consulting skills, instructional design skills, astute business acumen, excellent communication skills, influencing skills, strategic thinking, and planning/project management skills. These solutions and performance consultation should drive business goals and plans leading to overall company success.

Major Duties/Responsibilities:  
End-to-end ownership of Marketing & Marketing COEs learning and development programs.
• Execute needs analysis using interviews, focus groups, surveys etc., to assess current and future skills needs for the global audience that achieve business goals.  
• Research and apply external best practices and innovation within learning and development, brand marketing and growth, adult learning theory.  
• Drive thought leadership on best methods to develop marketing and growth capabilities.
• Design innovative and transformative learning programs and experiences that drive business results.
• Create learning content individually or collaborate with subject matter experts to create content that is applicable, practical, and drives measurable outcomes.  
• Deliver virtual, face-to-face, and/or asynchronous learning content.  
• Leverage / integrate technology to enhance the effectiveness of learning offerings for the learner.
• Lead the development, execution, and measurement of capability-building programs.
• Develop and execute evaluation strategies and assessments for programs, using the data to continuously improve programming and/or identify incremental learning needs.


Partner with Director Talent and Organizational Performance & HR COEs and Key Stakeholders in Marketing and Marketing COEs to drive learning agendas and skills development.
• Co-Create, maintain, and enhance Marketing and Marketing COEs Experience Maps
• Provide thought leadership on individualized performance and learning plans for Marketing and Marketing COEs talent.
• Collaborate and support learning and development for Early In Career Development, New hires and other learning and performance needs as assigned.
• Key contributor to building curriculum that drives Commercial Operator skills including individualized learning plans where needed.
Key Member of Facilitation Team that drives Enterprise-wide Capability Building

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:  
• Recognized ability to work effectively with leaders at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
• Strong platform training and facilitation skills in virtual, face-to-face, and asynchronous modalities 
• Proven track record of executing multiple projects and programs on aggressive timelines; experience managing projects and programs
• Highly effective in a collaborative, highly iterative project team, excellent management of energy and stamina in a fast-paced setting
• Strong stand-and-deliver execution, excellent communication skills, influencing skills, and strategic thinking skills
• Strong business and HR acumen, including problem solving skills, critical thinking, and willingness to provided candid constructive feedback on self and others
• Ability to deliver results with minimal supervision in a dynamic and ambiguous environment

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:  

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development or in related area of study required (i.e., Instructional Systems Design, HR, I/O Psychology) and solid base of professional certifications and qualifications within L&D.

Strongly Preferred:
Masters in M.Ed., MS in Training and Curriculum Design, MBA, or equivalent 



• 5-7 years of Increased responsibility within learning & development
• 5 years of experience working with Marketing, Commercial, and growth  teams/organizations
• Experience assessing performance gaps, analyzing learning needs, designing and developing interventions, and evaluating the effectiveness of Marketing and/or Commercial learning programs.
-Design innovative and transformative learning programs and experiences.
-Manage the development of programs.
-Develop and execute evaluation strategies for programs.
• Experience in managing vendor relationships.
• Experience in budget management.


•Proficiency in learning development software (Vyond, Adobe, etc).
