Manager Shelf Planning
Job Location: Hershey, PA
Summary:
With an unbiased view, robust analytical framework, and cross-functional perspective the Manager, Shelf Planning will provide portfolio planning, insights and recommendations to influence strategic decision making and enable dynamic business management.
- As part of the Integrated Business Management (IBM) process, comprehends, pressure-tests and synthesizes insights and intelligence from cross-functional partners and disparate data sets to drive holistic and balanced call on Holistic Shelf impacts, highlighting risks and opportunities against latest financial and operational commitments.
- Lead Analysis of US operational and financial forecasts, development of key business and customer insights and provide direction/guidance to US CMG Commercial, US Sales, US CMG Finance, and North America Supply Chain to improve accuracy of financial and operational plans for the US region.
- Lead and coordinate Integrated Dynamic Planning activities in support of new launches, annual planning process, and significant programs, utilizing data-driven analysis to support the development of the US operational and executional plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with cross-functional partners, helps develop gross sales targets and associated cannibalization impact for Innovation and Packtype project pipeline, as well as Holistic Shelf expectations impacting existing portfolio.
- Plays a critical role in highlighting Holistic Shelf sufficiency gaps across the portfolio needed to deliver financial and operational aspirations and targets.
- Key lead in developing and orchestrating efforts to drive top-line financial assumptions for Holistic Shelf Planning leveraged throughout various organizational processes, including but not limited to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) via Volume Validation, long-term capacity planning (RCC), and other strategic and long-term planning processes (Strat Plan and Annual Operating Plan).
- Oversees maintenance of thorough and explicit record of key planning assumptions by building block and growth drivers.
- Develops and maintains KPI scorecards to track and monitor in-year performance and status of pipeline projects.
- At present, leads a team of three (3) direct reports.
Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of the P&L, building blocks, mix implications, and growth levers.
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities, past people management experience beneficial. Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work in a team as well as being able to influence peer group and above.
- Extensive analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks and achieve aggressive deadlines.
Minimum Requirements and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- 4-6 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Category Management, or Analytics
