Mgr Procurement Strategy
Job Location: Hershey, PA – hybrid work from office or home 1-4 days per week
Primary responsibilities:
The Procurement Strategy Manager role is a multi-faceted role focused on advancing procurements digital initiatives while developing capabilities broaden Hershey’s supply chain resiliency. This candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Category Strategy (30%): Assist implementation of category sourcing process under development that includes category profile & segmentation, spend analysis, market supply analysis, identification of opportunities & risks that drive action plans appropriate for category segmentation. Leverage business analytics, as well as a strong story telling background to create and templatize category strategy documents. Develop and maintain best purchasing practices ensuring process continuity across the Global Procurement Organization.
Business Analytics (30%): Lead a team of five Analysts and Sr. Analysts who have shared category management and digital objectives. Investment in people is a key part of Hershey’s Leading Snacking Powerhouse vision. A successful candidate will exemplify Hershey’s leader standards by demonstrating success in energizing teams, igniting passion, and steering the way. Own procurement reporting and analytics work focusing on automation and development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Leverage tools such as, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Power Automate to build reporting capabilities to monitor purchase price variance (PPV), on time / in full (OTIF), cash flow, and quality performance. Integrate key metrics to ultimately deliver a standardized wholistic supplier assessment to support category management activities.
Procurement Digitization (20%): Drive procurement digitization and process improvements to simplify the buying process while ensuring that processes deployed are aligned with the risk and controls framework in the Global Procurement Policy. This role is expected to partner closely with category managers, the Hershey Business Platforms (HBP) team, and information systems to provide expertise on our digital source-to-pay strategies. This includes developing a rolling three-year roadmap, building business cases, and executing initiatives. This person will oversee the administration of procurement systems, such as SAP Ariba, Aravo, Jaggaer, and Rapid Ratings. A strong background in system design, project leadership, and system administration will be required for a successful candidate.
Program Ownership (20%): Own the overall program success of all work related to procurement analytics, third-party risk management, crisis management, and Hershey’s enterprise cashflow objectives. This person will oversee all work and roadmaps for these key areas, ensuring that the company meets its financial and resiliency goals. They will communicate current progress and success criteria to senior leaders on a continuous basis.
This role will evolve as opportunities present themselves to develop tools and training to standardize, simplify, and help the organization drive value creation.

- SAP knowledge
- Intimate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, supply chain, business, or related field of study, or equivalent experience, required.
- 5-7 years knowledge/relevant experience in supply chain, sourcing or procurement and related supply chains.
