About The Hershey Company
How will you fit in the big picture?
The Enterprise Modernization team builds and scales the capabilities that turn enterprise strategy into measurable business results. It works across functions to sharpen decisions, embed disciplined execution, and create repeatable capabilities that improve growth, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Within Enterprise Modernization, the Portfolio Modernization team exists to improve how the enterprise makes and executes product portfolio choices by connecting portfolio innovation strategy, product lifecycle management, and portfolio complexity management.
The Manager, Portfolio Modernization frames the portfolio questions for their workstream, develops fact-based recommendations, influences cross-functional decisions, and translates approved choices into executable roadmaps, PLM actions, stakeholder alignment, risk mitigation, and workstream-level value realization. This role will partner across Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, PLM, Strategy, and other functional teams to ensure assigned portfolio modernization initiatives are strategically grounded, analytically rigorous, decision-ready, and execution-ready. Success in this role requires a balance of structured problem solving, portfolio analytics, business-case thinking, executive-ready synthesis, stakeholder influence without authority, and disciplined program execution through stage-gate ways of working.
This is a consequential role because portfolio choices shape growth, margin, and the enterprise's capacity to execute. It is attractive to leaders who want to combine strategy with implementation, work across the full lifecycle from idea to end-of-life, and build capabilities that outlast any single initiative.

- Drive portfolio and SKU analysis for assigned workstreams – connecting product, consumer, customer, and operational data
- Develop recommendations that translate complex data into clear strategic options, tradeoffs, and decision-ready choices for senior leaders
- Translate portfolio decisions into executable roadmaps with milestones, dependencies, owners, and value-tracking mechanisms
- Proactively manage risks, issues, and roadblocks, escalating tradeoffs and resource gaps with clear options/recommendations
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders with different priorities and align on recommendations and execution paths
- Support workstream-level value realization and performance management, including tracking financial impact and initiative performance
- Prepare decision-ready materials for workstream governance and leadership forums – clearly stating the issue, options, tradeoffs, recommendation, and required decision
