Summary:
The Product Owner role is responsible for leading and managing data-centric projects with a focus on developing digital optimization, augmentation, and automation capabilities within Manufacturing at Hershey. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of all aspects of Decision Intelligence platforms including the development of value cases, data management frameworks, ensuring data quality and integrity, and collaborating with business teams to develop digital capabilities within Manufacturing to augment, optimize, and automate decision-making.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Under guidance of Digital Factory leadership, supports development and communication of product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with Manufacturing Decision Intelligence business and technical goals
2. Continuously collects and analyzes data to identify opportunities for product improvement and market optimization
3. Enforces agile methodologies throughout projects, actively participates in sprint planning through testing and deployment, and makes key prioritization decisions
4. Business fundamentals including manufacturing experience, financial management, metrics reporting, business process management, customer centricity, business analysis and problem solving
5. Project Oversight: Manage program development and projects, ensuring alignment with supply chain objectives and business goals. Oversee project timelines, budgets, resources, and cross departmental coordination needed to achieve successful outcomes.
6. Data Quality Management: Develops data governance policies, procedures, and tools to maintain high data quality and integrity.
7. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with supply chain, IT, and business units to understand business and data needs and requirements. Facilitate communication between teams to ensure data solutions are effectively integrated and meet user needs.
8. Strategic Insights and Reporting: Analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights and recommendations for supply chain optimization. Coordinate the development of reports, dashboards, advanced analytics, and AI solutions to deliver value cases for Supply Chain and to support strategic decision-making via a decision intelligence platform and framework.
9. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve supply chain outcomes through digital augmentation and automation to deliver value against Supply Chain value use cases.
10. Change Management: Lead change within the Hershey employee network to successfully deploy new capabilities, gain user acceptance, and advance decision intelligence.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Product Management: Deep understanding of manufacturing technology and processes; Project management and problem-solving abilities
•Analytics & Journey Mapping: Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making; Ability to write clear user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria and technical documentation
•Strategic Planning: Adept ability to align product strategy with long-term business goals
•Data Management Expertise: Understanding of data management principles, practices, and technologies with the ability to factor in data needs into project requirements.
•Technical Proficiency: Understanding of data management and analytics tools such as SQL, Python, and data visualization software. Familiarity with supply chain management systems and processes is advantageous.
Education: Strong preference for MBAs with undergrad in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field)
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Supply Chain related roles with a focus on product/process management, data management, data analysis, and supply chain systems. Experience within the supply chain or consumer packaged goods industry is highly preferred.
