Sr Analyst Inventory & Process
Job Location: Hershey, PA
Summary:
The Hershey Company West Hershey plant is a union facility producing White & Milk Chocolate Paste, Kisses, Nuggets, Milk Bars, Almond Bars, Rolo, Syrup & Cookies and Crème in a high-speed, complex environment.
The Sr. Inventory and Process Analyst’s primary focus is to understand and anticipate variances and issues related to the intricacies of paste processing operations and the production lines within the plant. This role also supports key financial responsibilities, including fixed asset management, physical inventory counts, reconciliations, monthly reporting, and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
This role will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of data and will work independently while supporting key teams throughout the plant. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to deliver accurate analysis under tight deadlines, and the capability to manage multiple priorities with minimal direction.
Responsibilities:
Inventory Oversight & Controls:
- Oversee and analyze inventory processes for Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Storeroom.
- Complete weekly/monthly raw material cycle counts and analyze them.
- Support physical counts of WIP and finished goods.
- Perform monthly rework inventory counts and reconcile SAP & AFO rework data.
- Reconcile Bill of Ladings to S4 and verify all documentation is accurate.
- Monitor, research, and resolve inventory discrepancies, including GR/IR issues.
- Work with QA and Logistics to prepare debit memos for defective packaging.
- Perform sample request movements to properly charge West Hershey products.
S4 System Leadership
- Help serve as an S4 site leader for West Hershey and partner with Accenture and IT to document, research, and resolve system issues.
- Troubleshoot S4 access, system limitations, and COGI errors.
- Support plant personnel when S4 issues arise and provide guidance on proper system use.
Production Reporting and Analytics:
- Support the plant accounting leadership in ensuring accurate use of S4 and AFO for production reporting.
- Analyze anomalies, variances, downtime drivers, and other performance shortfalls.
- Compile rework, waste, overweight, and line-level performance data.
- Issue performance reports and partner with Manufacturing and Plant Management to address root causes.
Financial & Profit Plan Support:
- Review standards and planning inputs (outputs, crewing, waste, overweight, rework, etc).
- Build and validate spreadsheets for cost center managers during budget preparation.
- Review charges to plant cost centers and resolve inaccuracies.
- Link budget packages to supporting detail and complete additional analysis as needed.
Training & Cross-Functional Support:
- Assist in training management and other employees on manufacturing tools and reporting systems.
- Provide ongoing analysis, reporting, and special project support as required.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
- Comfortable with periodic Flexible Work Hours (Physical Inventories, Month-end Close, Budgeting)

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of accounting/operational experience required.
