Summary:
Media has been a key source of growth at The Hershey Company for many years, but with rapid changes in the media landscape we must continue to further transform our media approach to operate in a more targeted, integrated and agile way. A key component of this transformation is taking greater control of our own media measurement and analytics.
Over the past two years, we have taken direct responsibility for owning our own measurement by increasing the testing capability thru the Agile process both in DMA and audience testing. We also have built a closed loop measurement tool that measures campaigns at the ID level. As the media measurement team grows,
The Sr. Associate Manager, Media Science Chocolate will be responsible for 3 key aspects of Media Analytics
Responsibilities include:
- Agile Testing – Own media science for Chocolate market tests including market or audience selection, media delivery check, and final test measurement conducted to identify additional opportunities for sales growth. Conduct analytics on a subset of tests and deliver recommendations to brand teams for implementation. Partner in the continuation of automation and visualizations from the measurement team. Create final measurement presentation for the Agile team and Agile Leadership Team
- Advanced Analytics Chocolate – Be the lead on analysis for the chocolate squad in helping the team optimize their media spend. Main drivers of the analysis will be our closed loop measurement tool (Performance Link), our media metric dashboard, MMM, and competitive media. The Sr. Analyst will be the lead on interpreting the analysis of these tools to help empower the Integrated Media Team to make the decisions needed to optimize media spend to drive brand sales growth. The Sr. Analyst will also be presenting to brand teams on results and findings.
- Media Analytics Build the Future – Work on team led by Senior Manager, Media Science on 2023 analytical tools to build the future of Media Science for the next 3-5 years
Requirements
- Knowledge of Advanced Data Analysis & Marketing Measurement Techniques – regression, segmentation, clustering, A/B Testing, Market Mix Modeling
- Familiarity with IRI or Nielsen point of sale data and associated tools
- Familiarity with CPG trade and merchandising strategies
- Hands-on Experience with High Level Excel functions and building data visualizations from raw data (e.g. in Tableau or Power BI)
Familiarity with programming/software such as R, Python, SQL and/or SA or data harmonization tools like Alteryx
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major responsibilities:
- 1-5 years of experience in related analytical fields
- Able to self-organize and execute deliverables independently, develop new approaches and identify roadblocks.
- Knowledge of media, branding, and performance marketing frameworks, including media effectiveness measurement techniques.
- A strong track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, and being results-oriented. You will need to be a self-starter.
- Deep curiosity, Willingness to learn, Attention to Detail, Ability to thrive in a small, agile team environment with desire to perform at a high level.
