The Hershey Company has a new opportunity for a Senior Director, Communication Strategy & Integrated Media.  Reporting to the VP Consumer Connections, the Senior Director is the enterprise lead for Hershey’s end-to-end communications planning, media strategy, and POES ecosystem integration (paid, owned, earned, and shared channels).  This role sets the strategic direction for how Hershey brands connect with consumers across POES channels—anchored in business objectives, powered by insight, and executed with precision. This leader is responsible for building an integrated communications planning discipline that unifies media, influencer, creator, and content strategies into a cohesive, channel-agnostic approach. The ideal candidate is a system-level thinker, change agent, and operator who can move seamlessly between strategic vision and executional excellence.

 

Top 5 Core Responsibilities / Outcomes Expected:

 

  • Set the Strategic Direction for Connections Planning: Define how Hershey brands show up across the consumer journey by orchestrating POES strategies aligned to cultural, behavioral, and retail signals. Lead the development of the Connections Brief as the single source of truth that aligns creative, media, and commerce activation.
  • Unify Media, Shared, and Addressable Teams: Oversee full-funnel media strategy, shared media and influencer integration, and platform/channel planning across Linear, CTV, social, programmatic, and creator ecosystems. Build capability across media investment governance, innovation pilots, and omnichannel sequencing.
  • Champion Insight-Driven Communications: Ensure every plan begins with consumer, cultural, and contextual insight—partnering closely with Marketing Intelligence to embed measurement and learning agendas into every campaign.
  • Operationalize a Connected Planning Model: Lead cross-functional alignment with Creative Studio, Commerce, Analytics, and Brand to ensure every campaign is designed as a connected system—not siloed deliverables. Drive consistency, agility, and performance accountability in how campaigns are briefed, planned, and optimized.
  • Modernize Agency and Partner Collaboration: Guide strategic engagement with media, creator, and platform partners—ensuring they are integrated into the campaign development process and held accountable to business outcomes.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Deep expertise in planning, channel strategy, and cross-platform media execution.
  • Strong leadership experience overseeing multi-disciplinary teams and agency ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to build insight-driven plans and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • High degree of cultural fluency with the ability to translate trends into actionable strategies.
  • Skilled in communications frameworks, media performance KPIs, and campaign measurement protocols

 

Qualifications:

Experience: 12-15 years of experience in Media Planning & Activation, combination of Agency and CPG experience preferred. Proven leadership of cross-functional and external agency teams.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related program. MBA preferred.
