How will you fit in the big picture?
The Senior Manager, Design to Value is responsible for leading commercial impact in our consumer-centric approach to product (re)design that creates both revenue growth and margin productivity. This role operates at the intersection of strategy, value creation, and execution, supporting Hershey’s enterprise agenda by shaping, launching, and scaling initiatives that improve how our portfolio and products create value for consumers, customers, and Hershey.
The role partners closely with Demand Creation, Marketing, Consumer Insights, R&D, and other partners to ensure product renovations delight consumers and drive conversion growth. The Senior Manager plays a hands-on role in insights, research, analysis, and benchmarking to identify the features that matter and prioritize improvements that make a difference.
What will you do?
Strategic activation & Value Creation
• Lead product & portfolio renovation programs aligned to Hershey’s enterprise strategy and long-term value priorities
• Translates strategic priorities into clearly defined initiatives, roadmaps, and execution plans
• Ensures initiatives are structured to deliver measurable financial and operational outcomes
Initiative Leadership
• Owns day-to-day leadership of Design to Value sprint initiatives and capability builds
• Drives consumer & commercial analysis to understand pain points and prioritize solutions
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops with executive leaders that drive decisive action on priorities
Cross-Functional Influence & Stakeholder Leadership
• Acts as a connective leader across Strategy, Marketing, R&D, and Commercial teams
• Influences outcomes without direct authority by aligning stakeholders around enterprise value and priorities
• Prepares clear, decision-ready materials for executive leaders, synthesizing complex tradeoffs and recommendations
Value Realization & Performance Management
• Partners with Commercial, Finance, and Strategy teams to quantify consumer and business value creation
• Identifies risks to value delivery and drives corrective actions
• Drives governance and reporting (e.g., scorecards, Steering Committee materials)
Design to Value Standards & Capability Building
• Serves as a practitioner and coach of Design to Value approach, tools, and ways of working
• Supports training, enablement, and change efforts
• Captures lessons learned to continuously improve how Hershey designs and scales capabilities
Minimum Education & Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 7-10 years commercial, marketing, or strategy experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or consulting preferred
- Value cases and initiatives with material financial, productivity, or capability impact
- Experience leading initiatives with high ambiguity and evolving priorities requiring structured problem solving
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to translate strategy into execution
- Proven ability to influence without authority and manage senior cross-functional stakeholders
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Engineering; Master’s in Business Administration preferred
