Job Overview
This role functions as an advanced subject matter expert responsible for leading complex strategic initiatives that influence divisional outcomes and support broader planning. It manages large cross-functional workstreams, applying deep expertise in strategic analysis, business model evaluation, and long-range planning. The role identifies growth opportunities, evaluates potential innovations, and integrates commercial intelligence into medium- to long-term strategic recommendations. It collaborates across multiple functions to resolve complex challenges and ensure that strategic work aligns with organizational objectives and priorities.
Accountabilities
1. Lead Large, Complex Strategic Initiatives
The role independently leads strategic initiatives that span multiple functions and shape critical business outcomes within a division or function. It defines project scope, aligns partners across related areas, and builds structured workplans to guide execution. It tracks progress, removes roadblocks, and adjusts plans to maintain momentum and ensure delivery against strategic objectives.
2. Influence Functional Strategic Decision-Making
The role synthesizes commercial intelligence, market insights, and financial implications to shape recommendations for functional and divisional leaders. It presents structured decision options, articulates tradeoffs, and clarifies impacts across the value chain. It supports alignment around strategic choices that prioritize long-term value creation and cross-functional implications.
3. Assess Medium- to Long-Term Business Trends and Growth Opportunities
The role evaluates emerging market dynamics, competitive shifts, and technological developments that may influence growth and profitability. It uses research, benchmarking, and scenario analysis to generate actionable insights on risks and opportunities. It converts these insights into prioritized recommendations that inform functional and divisional planning.
4. Develop and Evaluate Business Model and Growth Opportunities
The role conducts structured assessments of potential business model innovations and growth paths. It performs financial evaluation, scenario analysis, and feasibility assessments to determine strategic value and operational viability. It collaborates with cross-functional teams to validate assumptions and ensure proposed models align with organizational capabilities and objectives.
5. Manage Strategic Workplans and Cross-Functional Execution
The role develops comprehensive workplans that outline objectives, milestones, roles, dependencies, and risk mitigations. It manages execution across multiple workstreams, coordinating deliverables and resolving issues that affect timeline, scope, or quality. It ensures project outcomes remain tightly connected to defined strategic priorities and performance targets.
