Sr Operation Business Process Leader Packaging Sustainabilty

Summary:

 

Responsible for planning, managing, and ensuring the success of the Supply Chain portfolio and network projects by partnering with various cross-functional groups to support The Hershey Company’s priorities with a specific emphasis on implementation of Hershey Company Sustainable Packaging Program. 

 

With minimal supervision, this position will lead other Supply Chain Projects of varied scope and complexity to support the US commercial plans; acting as liaison between Supply Chain and Sales/Marketing while developing operational solutions, providing recommendations to leadership, and establishing and implementing execution plans for production capacity expansion, margin enhancement and new item production solutions.  They will leverage supply chain knowledge, and technical skills to drive solutions in a dynamic business environment. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Operations Business Lead:

- Develops and manages timelines and ensures cross-functional project deliverables are completed on time to ensure implementation of Hershey Packaging Sustainability goals.

- Coordinate with PLM Project Management COE, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing to manage deconfliction of multiple projects, identify and implement synergies and strategies for execution

- Participates in the formulation, evaluation, strategy setting, and presentation of product and process solution alternatives (i.e., product offerings, profitability, and the manufacturing solutions) of assigned projects.

- Serve as the Business Case Owner (BCO) for Supply Chain initiatives, building, evaluating and presenting business case and justification using Accolade software and Hershey governance processes

- Leads the development of product line standard cost estimates for business case evaluation.

- Demonstrates and develops supply chain experience to understand and ultimately provide robust operational solutions.

- Develops capital projects through completion and serves as a project leader during capital project development and approval.

- Analyzes operational problems, identifies probable root causes, and recommends solutions.

- Typical scope of business impact is less than $750MM.

 

Project Management

Ensures Supply Chain data cleansing as it relates to Packaging Sustainability project management.

Project management process expert - owns project execution, including project initiation, project type & tier, identification, and knowledge of applicable project processes.

Provide a critical leadership role in ensuring the successful development and execution of projects for packaging sustainability implementation.

Partners with Business Case Owner (BCO) to facilitate key decision making, remove roadblocks and outline risks to drive the projects forward through Stage Gate Process.

Partners with, and coordinates activities between, Packaging Engineering, Master Data and Product Data Management to ensure obsolescence of old materials and creation of new components and Bills of Materials to manage packaging change overs, minimizing waste

Actively manages schedule, scope, resources, and budget.

Utilizes information provided by the Core Team members to integrate it into plans.

Identifies activities in project plan that are at risk and executes risk management developed in partnership with Business Case Owner (BCO).

Supports development of project alternatives and scenarios.

Drives Packaging Updates from Impact Analysis session.

For this position, the incumbent must be able to manage an array of complex collaboration/technical/business problems, taking proper actions indicated and using the appropriate resources.

Qualifications

 

- B.S. Required (Engineering/Science/Technology) or related field.

- Packaging Materials Engineering experience preferred

- 3-5+ years of related work experience in Supply Chain and/or Product Lifecycle Management

- Analytical or Data Analysis Skills

- Technical Project Management

- Product cost knowledge and estimating preferred

- Strong presentation skills; experience interacting with senior level leadership

- Plant level Manufacturing experience or working knowledge of plant operations

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
