Job Location:  Hershey, PA - hybrid, will consider remote with occasional travel to corporate

 

Job Summary: 

 

Provide leadership in the Strategic Sourcing process, focused on North America, but providing global support as needed. Develop and execute sourcing strategies with a focus on capital equipment and capital construction spends, but also supporting additional areas of spend as needed, including, but not limited to facilities services, transportation and logistics, and professional services.

Lead cross-functional sourcing teams in progressively larger spend areas. Collaborate with leaders of engineering and manufacturing to develop long-range procurement schedules and plans, analyze spend data to identify opportunities, and formulate and execute negotiation strategies. Lead negotiations with suppliers, often dealing with internal and external leaders at higher organizational levels (VP’s, Principals, CFO’s). Negotiate, write, and edit contracts and statements of work, collaborating with legal resources as needed. Facilitate the smooth operation of the requisitioning and purchase order process.

 

 

  

Role Responsibilities: 

  

50% - Lead cross-functional teams, determine requirements and scope, select appropriate suppliers for consideration, manage competitive bidding process, lead negotiations, and execute contracts, manage implementation.  Review statements of work.  Maximize overall cost savings and value-added services. 

25% - Serve as the sourcing key contact for assigned spend categories. Develop long- and short-range procurement calendars and plans. Provide leadership in managing the supply base to insure maximum values and services from suppliers on a continuing basis. Train non-Sourcing personnel on the essentials of the procurement process and procedures.

25% - Review quotes, statements of work, contracts, and facilitate the requisition to purchase order process.    

 

 

Qualifications: 

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, technical area, or equivalent area of study.
  • Minimum of 4 - 6 years progressive business experience in sourcing, supply chain, engineering, or other analytical function.

 

  • Strong, proven sourcing skills and expertise.
  • Understanding of the proposal process and how to obtain transparency and cost detail
  • Ability to handle complex negotiations, and basic knowledge of contract law.
  • Strong data analysis capabilities
  • Ability to analyze and screen suppliers for financial, supply, and service capabilities.
  • Problem solving and the ability to exercise good business judgment in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal departments, seek common ground and establish alignment on common goals.
  •     Strong financial and business mindset.
  • Effective oral and written communication
  •     Motivated, high-energy and self-starter mindset.

Nice-to-Have Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Consumer packaged goods experience
  • Capital equipment and/or construction project negotiation experience
  • Experience dealing with European equipment manufacturers
  • Facilities services knowledge and/or sourcing experience (e.g., security services, uniform, food services, printing, janitorial)
