Sr. Maintenance Technician (Facilities & Utilities Engineering)

Job Summary:
Incumbent is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, and repair of the facilities equipment, fixtures, and general structure, along with managing customer and facility management expectations. This is to include any specialized equipment that may be associated with the area of work. Technician will analyze and eliminate problems using root-cause analysis and technical knowledge. Technician will engage in skills development to enhance current skillset and learn additional trade skills. Support and embrace programs and policies within the facility affecting maintenance, safety, life safety and OSHA regulations. The Technician must work well individually and in a team environment; and possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Provide superior customer service support to all customers in all of The Hershey Company Facilities. Incumbent should be versed in a trade and willing to learn other trades. Incumbent must have a desire to learn and understand how systems are integrated and designed.
Role Responsibilities:

Maintains and repairs all equipment and systems necessary to operate the facilities such as; (but not limited to) boilers, electrical equipment, air conditioners, fire protection, structures, and fixtures in multiple buildings.

Maintain technical knowledge and documentation of all equipment and maintenance processes. Areas may include specialized equipment relating to the specific function of the site. Performs other activities as needed.

Performs Preventative maintenance on all equipment and maintains the paperwork associated with each asset to ensure proper care of all assets.

Coordinates outside work done by Vendors and assists in project development and project management related to in-house projects.

This includes assisting in scheduling work, monitoring vendor work, and communicating with other parties what work is being scheduled and any affects on the population of the facility.
Qualifications:

High School diploma; Two-year Technical degree (with 3.0 GPA or higher) preferred.

With technical degree, at least 1 year of related experience; without documented trade training, at least 5 years.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- Basic PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, other similar applications)
- Familiarity with Johnson Controls and/or Metasys preferred
- Master Electrician or strong commercial HVAC background preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate technical data to non-technical personnel.
- Ability to plan and perform work with minimal direction and supervision.
- Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate the activities of contractors, vendors, and less experienced specialists.
- Ability to plan and execute multiple priorities while being flexible and adaptive to change.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, shop drawings and building equipment specifications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and 100 lbs. with help.
- Ability to bend stoop and kneel in the process of performing responsibilities.
