Summary of Role:

The position provides financial leadership and business partnership to leaders across the US CMG business to drive profitable growth. The Sr Mgr serves as the direct partner to the Portfolio Marketing and Protein teams and leads a team to deliver financial results across these business units. This position requires strong leadership skills to influence and drive analytical decision making across all areas of the $10b+ US business (Chocolate, S&R, Grocery, Seasons, and Protein).  The individual will have full accountability for financial leadership to a newly created Protein Business Unit, while working closely with the Protein GM.  This individual will interact with senior-level individuals (VPs, Senior Directors, and Directors) in Finance, Sales, Customer Planning, Marketing, and Operations.

 

 

 

Role Responsibilities:

Financial and team Leadership and influence

  • Develop and deliver financial and economic analysis to business partners to drive decisions across Protein and US CMG, effectively utilize resources, and ensure appropriate tradeoffs across the portfolio.
  • Lead Financial planning, budgeting, and actuals reporting across Protein and various Brands to ensure forecast accuracy and elevate transparency and insights into performance.
  • Provide financial leadership for the Strategic Plan process, including developing the strategies and building blocks to achieve US profitable growth ambitions
  • Lead the monthly financial review of the P&L with a focus on building financial acumen, and delivering actionable insights across the P&L.  High focus on driving profitable growth by improving product mix, optimizing DME investment, and driving cost efficiency.
  • Lead and grow a team of Managers/Analysts to support the business and deliver financial plans 

Protein Strategic Planning:

  • Develop process for accurately measuring and communicating financial returns / impacts to guide decision making of strategic investments of all types
  • Conduct scenario modelling across enterprise vectors and time horizons to guide decision making
  • Provide support and lead special projects and ad hoc analysis requests

 

 

 

 

 

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • 7+ years of solid business experience, including accounting, finance, FP&A and sales, interacting with sales & marketing.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with financial concepts and reporting. Advanced technical expertise with PlanEx, SAP, and Excel.
  • Advanced understanding of consumer products businesses and Sales Planning trade strategies and channel issues.
  • Extensive experience in analyzing and integrating multiple data sources into a useful decision format, interprets data, identifies issues/opportunities, and provides solution finding leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across disciplines and customer teams to generate new processes and/or resolve issues.
  • Leadership experience preferred

 

 

 

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Education –
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, or MBA
  • Experience –
    • At least 7 years of experience in Sales Finance, RD&A Management, Commercial Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis.
