Sr. Payroll Specialist

Summary of Role:

The Sr. Payroll Tax Analyst demonstrates in depth knowledge in regard to US payroll tax law and regulation. This role will be responsible for monitoring and performing payroll tax activities, including monitoring BSI TUB updates & testing the same in SAP and all tax correspondences and transactions with the various agencies & ADP payroll tax provider as well as internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely filing & reporting to government authorities.

 

 

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Researching and remaining current with payroll tax compliance laws and regulations, provides payroll tax awareness of applicable changes, and provides appropriate recommendations. Collaborating with team along with various workstreams to resolve employee inquiries/cases within the SLA timeframe. Documents the source, seeks proper approvals, determines any necessary transactions, and documents them according to policies. Accountability for analysis of weekly payroll / employee data related entries that impact the accuracy of tax withholding or reporting. Helping identify drivers for these abnormalities, researches, analyses and documents as well as propose corrective action.
  • Building strong working relationships with various cross-functional groups throughout Human Resources and finance to deliver exceptional customer service experience by responding accurately and timely to customer requests.
  • Frequent interaction with ADP on open tax issues & amendments, need to prepare SOX report on weekly basis. Reconciling Statement of Deposits on quarterly basis, working on Year-end process & W2 / W2C & amendment processing, need to know end to end garnishment processing, confirming that all controls are functioning as designed and proactively identifies areas for improvement in internal controls. Identifying and implementing improvement ideas by challenging the status-quo (especially processes that are manual/repetitive).
  • Additional partnerships include Legal, Employee Relations, Finance and Operations, working collectively to ensure all data is accurately being passed and processed

Requirements:

  • Education –
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business
  • Experience –
      • 5+ years of experience with multi state payroll tax processing, using an automated software solution, preferably SAP
