Job Overview

This leader provides advanced technical expertise within the Technical Product Development & Optimization Job Sub‑Family, driving the development and optimization of product solutions that span concept through commercialization. Operating in the Technical career track, the role delivers critical technical solutions by applying systems thinking, research‑based problem‑solving, and innovative methodologies that enhance product quality, scalability, and performance. It supports technical architecture and solution design, introducing improved tools and approaches that strengthen team effectiveness and influence cross‑functional outcomes. The role collaborates broadly across technical and business functions to translate scientific and consumer insights into compliant, manufacturable, and market‑relevant products that meet regulatory, brand, safety, financial, and shelf‑life expectations. Through technical leadership and partnership, this position ensures sustained momentum across an innovation pipeline that spans both near‑term and multi‑year horizons.

Accountabilities

1. Execute and Optimize Technical Solutions That Advance Product and Team Outcomes Lead the planning and execution of complex technical work that is critical to product performance, scalability, and team delivery. Apply strong technical judgment to ensure solutions meet quality and operational expectations. Anticipate risks and adjust approaches to maintain alignment with project and organizational priorities.
2. Solve Complex Technical Challenges Through Applied Research and Systems Thinking Investigate and resolve difficult technical problems by leveraging scientific methods, analytical tools, and cross functional insights. Diagnose root causes and develop solutions that improve reliability, performance, or feasibility. Contribute technical leadership that advances the team’s capability to manage increasing complexity.
3. Introduce and Champion New Tools, Methods, or Approaches to Improve Technical Execution Identify opportunities to enhance technical efficiency, accuracy, and consistency through improved methodologies or modernized tools. Drive the adoption of new approaches that strengthen product development workflows and team performance. Ensure enhancements are practical, scalable, and aligned with organizational standards.
4. Lead Development Activities from Prototyping Through Scale Up to Support Commercialization Provide technical direction across formulation development, prototyping, and scale up activities that prepare products for pilot or manufacturing environments. Address feasibility challenges and guide teams through iterative improvements. Ensure developmental work supports product integrity, operational readiness, and commercial success. 
5. Collaborate Across Functions to Drive Pipeline Progress and Technical Alignment Partner with technical and business stakeholders to advance an innovation pipeline that spans short to long term horizons. Provide technical insights that inform decision making, prioritization, and risk assessment. Ensure technical paths are aligned with regulatory, brand, and financial considerations across the development lifecycle.
