Technician Facilities CAD/CAFM

Job Summary: 


The CAFM (Computer Aided Facilities Management) Administrator provides services related to the implementation, maintenance, and upkeep of the facilities database.  This includes AutoCAD drawings and reporting related facilities and real estate data either as an in-house project resource or as an outsourced resource working on-site at one or multiple client locations. The CAFM administrator shall act as the subject matter expert for all Computer Aided Facility Management software and data management for the Corporate Facilities Department.  



Role Responsibilities: 


CAFM Management & Maintenance (45%):  Layout, design, and document space plans for facilities in relation to move planning and construction projects.  Keep and maintain accurate drawings of As-built conditions in AutoCAD and Revit formats for uploading into CAFM Software. Create polylines in accordance with space measurement protocols including BOMA and IFMA.   Conduct building audits to verify that employee locations, furniture layout and room configurations are correctly noted on floor plans.  Conduct regular data audits for quality assurance of data reporting. 

Cross Functional Data Sharing (25%):  Work with other departments within the organization to collaborate and share data.  This will allow effective interactions with Information Systems, Engineering, Human Resources, Security, or other departments. Develop methods to share and integrate data information from multiple database sources.  Ability to analyze and manipulate data for ad-hoc reporting. Apply data metrics that are important to client and business needs.  Develop dashboard reporting of frequently requested reports of building data. Offer new business solutions to automate processes by sharing data across departments.


Strategic Development for CAFM System (20%):  Manage FM system development including upgrades and enhancements to the system.  Monitor and track CAFM performance. This position must have the ability to anticipate business needs, define user requirements and drive solutions. Identify and advocate continuous process improvement and automation opportunities.  Serve as the point of contact for CAFM vendor and end users to track and resolve technical issues as well as system enhancement requests. Develop and manage technology roadmaps for the Corporate Facilities Department. Expand use of CAFM software beyond Derry Township Facilities to North America and then globally.

Instructional (10%):  Develop and train other associates on software updates and functions within the FM System.  Meet with CAFM users on a regular basis to update preventative maintenance (PM) and Work Order Process Flows and building needs change.   





  • High School Diploma, Some AutoCAD course work/certification
  • 5+ years of AutoCAD Experience. 
  • 3-5 years of professional experience related to the CAFM Industry. Some exposure to Contract Manufacturing 
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work and interact with all levels of employees.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to provide customer service, prioritize requests based upon urgency, cost, & importance.
  • AutoCAD & Revit proficiency is a must.
  • Detailed understanding of space measurement techniques including but not limited to BOMA and IFMA.
  • Ability to effectively plan and execute multiple priorities while being flexible and adaptive to change
  • Must possess technical and/or operations supervisory experience.
  • Possess a working knowledge of building and utility systems, building codes, OSHA, hazardous material, insurance & safety regulations, and procedures.
