Assistant Storekeeper
Summary:
The Assistant Storekeeper plays a supporting role to the Store Supervisor in ensuring efficient inventory management to deliver safety compliance, optimal product quality, regulatory compliance and uninterrupted production operations.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
o Assist in receiving, storing, and issuing of spare parts and consumables.
o Verify the accuracy of deliveries against purchase orders.
o Perform proper labeling, tracking, and rotation of stock using methods like FIFO (First In, First Out).
o Participate in regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies (e.g. monthly stock count)
o Coordinate with vendors and transport providers to ensure timely dispatch and delivery.
o Assist in optimizing storage layouts for efficient space utilization.
Coordination and Communication:
o Communicate any stock shortages or delivery delays to supervisors to avoid disruptions in manufacturing processes.
People Safety:
o Adhere and enforce safety protocols for store equipment and processes.
Food Safety:
o Ensure that the store complies with food safety regulations such as HACCP and GMP.
o Maintain cleanliness and sanitation/pest control measures.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Manual dexterity:
• Ability to lift and carry items in compliance with safe weight limits and safe lifting techniques as per factory & DOSH recommendations.
• Ability to handle tools and equipment such as forklifts, trolleys, or pallet jacks, as required for inventory tasks.
Education & Experience:
• Candidate must possess at least a SPM qualification
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in manufacturing industry/related field is important for this position.
• Preferably junior non-executives specializing in Inventory/Warehouse Management or equivalent.
