Position : Associate Marketing Manager APAC

Location : Johor, Malaysia

Summary: 

The associate marketing manager is responsible for executing the brand marketing strategies and marketing plans for the brand he or she is responsible for, under the supervision of the marketing manager.  The role requires strong leadership, thinking/problem solving capability, and a set of solid marketing skills to implement the brand marketing plans to achieve the successful sales, share, profitability and consumer KPI results.

 

The associate marketing manager requires solid analytical skills to sort through data to make well-reasoned conclusions, and translate the learnings into business plans/actions on advertising, promotion, product/packaging innovations, pricing, retail programs, and other key programs that could affect the short and long term profitability and share position of the brands.

 

Summary of major duties:

  • Brand Marketing and Business Planning – Assists in the development of  consumer and customer insight-driven brand marketing programs under the supervision of his or her manager.  Helps to builds long and short term brand portfolio growth plans to achieve the brand growth targets.  Assists in translating country marketing strategies and priorities into brand strategies and business plans that match with the company capabilities.
  • Marketing Execution Leadership and Management –Implements the annual brand marketing plans to achieve the target sales, profit, share and consumer KPI results.  Drives marketing execution excellence in the following:
  • - Product/packaging innovations – builds, project manages and drives the continuous stream of product and packaging innovations to achieve sustainable growth for the brands;
    - Advertising and Media – assists in the development and deployment of superior consumer communications across all ATL and BTL advertising and media plan development and tracking;
    -  Agency management – work closely with the Marketing Manager in managing the advertising, media, PR, digital/social and promotion agencies to derive superior business results;
    - Social Media Management – manages the social media channels via the agency to ensure we are leveraging these channels in our marketing mix;
     - Marketing Budget Support – manages the day to day of the marketing budget (raising POs, processing invoices, tracking budget etc) ensuring DME spend is within budget;
    - Concepts: develops, qualifies and implements insight-driven marketing ideas, concepts and innovations across all aspects of marketing mix;
    - Brand portfolio management – develops optimal brands’ pack type, price and channel portfolio to meet consumer segmentation needs while achieving the profitability goals;
  • Business Analysis and Realization – Conducts in-depth analysis of market (category), consumer and customer analysis to derive data-driven indicated actions to guide the brand/marketing plan development and optimization.  Conducts ROI analysis to monitor, improve and deliver optimum DME (ATL focused) efficiency, under the supervision of his or her manager;
  • Personal Capability Development – Be responsible and committed for the training and development plan for himself or herself.  Be the ‘owner’ for self continuous growth under the supervision of the marketing manager and/or marketing director 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:  

  • Bachelors Degree in relevant fields
  • Highly competent commercial and analytical skills
  • Have P&L management & budget management experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Confidence to challenge the status quo and influence people at all levels of the organization
  • High accountability, working in a fast-paced environment where tasks vary greatly from highly strategic to more basic
  • Team player able to effectively collaborate, motivate & inspire others
  • Ability to nurture and contribute to creative solutions
  • Proficient in MS Power-point, Excel and IRI (or AC Nielsen)
