Position Title AEMEA Operations & Business Development (OBD) Asst. Mgr.

 

Job Location : Malaysia

                                

Summary: 

 

 

This position is responsible for leading coordination of supply chain activities related to new product introductions through the product commercialization processes (Filter approval, Stage Gates process) and systems (PDM/Accolade), focusing on APAC sourcing locations with main sourcing site as Hershey Malaysia plant, supplying to other regions and countries, such as US, Canada, India, UK, Germany, KSA, UAE, Qatar, Australia, China, Korea, Thailand, and Philippines.

 

Scope of work includes central innovations, local customization projects for existing items, new products, changes to existing portfolio due to reformulation, artwork changes, and supply chain driven initiatives, such as co-packing hubs /co-man set ups, etc.

 

Key responsibilities of the AEMEA OBD Asst. Mgr. include:

 

  • Partner with AEMEA business team to identify and support evaluation of Supply Solutions for innovation, both from internal Sources as well as external Sources t (e.g. Co-packing, co-man capabilities)

 

  • Lead Implementation Projects to support AEMEA based on Supply sources in Hershey Malaysia plant as well as co-mans/co-packers in APAC region

 

  • Drive activities to identify, evaluate and set up co-mans/co-packs to support innovations as well as Gross Margin improvement initiatives

 

  • Facilitate flow of information to AEMEA markets and coordinate activities to manage changes arising from Malaysia Plant Driven initiatives that change product formulation/label

 

  • Work with Multifunctional team (e.g. Plant Engineering, Plant Planning, Procurement, Plant QA, MKT, Packaging Development and Graphics, Finance, Market Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Legal, etc.) for the successful development and execution of operational solutions related to innovations for the APAC region

 

  • Support OBD Manager on Fill The Factor (FTF) initiative and various Continuous Improvement (CI) cost saving projects

Summary of major duties:

1.

50%

Develop operational solutions for innovation (new and changing products) and pack types to achieve desired timing and financial targets for commercialization (including seasons)

 

  • Lead cross-functional teams to outline operational feasibility to include product sourcing options, implementation timing and capital requirements
  • Run Innovation project meetings or Filter meetings with the Malaysia plant and multifunctional Teams
  • Lead the development of all product costs to include cost of goods sold and total delivered product costs
  • Manage interdependencies between business opportunity and operational plan to achieve required deliverables
  • Assess operational readiness and ensure operational risks are clearly identified. Lead resolution of issues and development of contingency plan
  • Oversee supply chain activities through production start-up
  • Lead development of resolution for major customer supportability issues to include alternative product sourcing, operational improvement plans and any other appropriate actions that can be solved through SC tools
  • Provide support to justify capital expenditures, when applicable

Develop External Sourcing solutions (new locations, co-mans, co-packing, etc.) in APAC region and drive implementation

 

  • Partner with the business team to identify business needs for external Supply
  • Create database for potential co-man partners and capabilities
  • Drive co-man/co-pack search for the targeted formats
  • Lead technical evaluation and work with multifunctional teams for Quality and legal due diligence
  • Lead Business and Commercial discussions on Investment requirements and agree/align operating model with co-man
  • Lead Contracting in discussion with legal team and co-man partners
  • Project management of co-man set up and implementation to deliver product as per agreed timeline
  • On-going relationship management

Knowledge of Manufacturing networks in Malaysia Plant, Support key initiatives driven by Malaysia plant, such as Fill the Factory and Continuous Improvement, and Coordination of Supply supportability of new SKUs from Malaysia plant impacting SKUs sourced by AEMEA and other regions, such as US, Canada, and India:

 

  • Develop understanding /contacts and work closely with Malaysia plant and AEMEA cross functional team
  • Monitoring, Tracking and reporting of Initiatives identified under Fill the Factory Evaluation
  • Support initiatives and to drive innovations sourced from Malaysia for AEMEA and other regions, including Global Customers
  • Communicate with markets  - Commercial and supply chain and track actions to manage transition (i.e. sanitary registrations, distributor alignment)

 

 

 

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

 

Education:

BS/BA in Engineering, Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent experience

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years
