Position Title : Executive Engineer (CAPEX & CAD)
Job Location : Senai, Johor Bahru
Summary
This role combines responsibilities in capital project management and CAD drawing development. The engineer is responsible for creating, updating, and managing technical drawings, as well as overseeing capital expenditure processes and reporting.
Job Responsibilities:
Capital Program Management
• Assemble, appraise, analyze, and report consolidated capital budgets to Plant Leadership Team.
• Manage the Capital Project Approval Process in accordance with the Capital Control Policy.
o Business case review and cash flow analysis for all capital projects.
• Act as the admin for Clarity (project and portfolio management software solution) for Malaysia plant
o Facilitate timely development and submission of monthly capital forecasts by coordinating with project owners and ensuring updates are accurately reflected in the Clarity application for Capital PMO review.
o Furnish annual capital plan for the plant in Clarity app to facilitate review by Capital PMO.
• Coordinate closely with respective project owners to facilitate timely closure of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements for all Malaysia capital projects.
• Assist the Plant Finance team by driving the timely development and submission of monthly depreciation forecasts from project owners.
• Facilitate discussions or meetings with cross-functional teams for matters/issues/showstoppers pertaining to capital program management.
• Provide training on SAP S/4 HANA transactions & internal processes involving capital project management for all project owners.
Autocad Development
• To manage and maintain the drawings (layout & P&ID) in good order.
• To coordinate with project owners to review and update the drawings accordingly.
• To create drawing according to the specification and site construction.
Detailed Scope:
• Autodesk AutoCAD 2D
o Plant Layouts
o Update Architectural Layouts for changes.
o Update Equipment Layouts for changes.
o Provide area information as per requests by plant personnel.
• Autodesk Plant 3D
o Create and/or update Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) based on Process Flow Diagrams (PFD).
• Autodesk Vault
o Manage our centralized database for CAD file storage (all updated drawings are maintained in this server)
• Manage both softcopy and hardcopy CAD files in an organized and secure manner.
o Ensure proper storage and safekeeping of authority-approved drawings (e.g., Bomba, MPKu, etc.).
o Maintain an effective indexing system to support traceability and quick retrieval when required.
Capital Asset Management
• Capital Asset Relocation & Disposal (CARD) management:
o CARD form administrator for plant.
o Apportionment of asset values appropriately to justify idling or write-off of assets.
o Manage disposal of assets that have been written off, either by selling or scrapping.
• Support internal control and compliance audit for asset tracing and identification.
• Plant idle asset management:
o Maintain list of idle assets.
o Review of asset continuity status on a yearly basis (whether to keep, sell or scrap).
• Capital asset tagging:
o Work with Finance team to obtain list of newly-capitalized assets which has to be tagged.
o Manage printing of asset tags, including timely replenishment of stock for label cartridges/ribbons.
o Work with project owners to ensure all newly-capitalized assets have been tagged.
Job Qualification:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized institution. Coursework or training in CAD design, project management, and engineering economics is advantageous.
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical system design or engineering project support.
• Practical exposure to AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling software for technical drawing and design updates.
• Involvement in capital project coordination, budgeting support, or SAP-based internal order processes is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and contribute to engineering documentation and planning.
