Export Specialist
Summary of major duties:
1. Have in-depth knowledge of export/import regulations such as duties, taxes, tariffs, quotas, preferential trade agreements and retaliatory duties. Provide guidance and support to customs specialist regarding maintenance of Hershey’s compliance program. Develop and maintain relationships with all relevant personnel to ensure integration with customs processes. Ensure appropriate understanding of required procedures for customs and trade adherence. Utilize and refine global trade systems to improve processes and controls that will ensure compliant and profitable operations for exports, imports and customs. Lead the development and improvement of Hershey internal processes, policies and procedures focused on improving export/import and customs operations while managing costs. Maintain SAP S4 & GTS customs data integrity for processes needed to support Malaysia origin shipments. Lead and drive logistics improvement opportunities – process change/simplification, digitization, etc.
2. Responsible for Third Party Logistics providers on Transportation including Customs Broker Agent overall performance.
• Conduct efficient coordination to ensure Import and Export processes has been implemented correctly and timely
• Manage 3PL KPIs and lead monthly operation review meeting
• Monthly Billing and cost saving
• Be responsible for Import and Export SOPs development
• Manage activities of Third Party Logistics – Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) services ( selecting Carriers, Transporters etc.)
3. Interface with Commercial business units and internal Hershey functions to ensure smooth integration of support objectives. Provide and analyze Key Performance Indicators and disseminate performance indicators to Supply Chain and Business units in the Region. Key point of contact for business units to discuss performance and prioritize projects/ initiatives.
4. Plantwide Relevant & Other tasks
• To support plant activities from time to time – audits, recreations, exhibitions, etc.
• To complete necessary or assigned training on time (LMS assigned courses, assessment, etc).
• To be part of any plant committee team to drive the committee work plan.
• To assist in delivering cross functional initiatives or plant KPIs.
• Any other tasks assigned by superior.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in International Trade, Logistics, Operations, Business Administration or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years related Export/Import Logistics and Transportation.
- Experience in export and import compliance at a multi-national consumer packaged goods company preferred.
- Working experience with Customs, Free Trade Agreement, product classifications, brokerage and logistics.
- Process Improvement Skills – Experience in Process Improvement leadership activities such as Six Sigma methodology is preferred.
- SAP system experience preferred.
