Line Technician
Summary:
The job incumbent will be responsible for maintenance of multiple production machine and production support to achieve machine efficiency and output. The job incumbent is accountable for the production lines output, efficiency and waste. The job incumbent will also be responsible for troubleshooting activities whenever the production machine is down. Besides that, the job incumbent will be involved in plant continuous improvement activities. The job incumbent is required to use AIM, WinSPC, easyDMS and other productivity softwares as per trained or instructed.
Summary of major duties:
Operation:
- To operate machine to achieve machine effiency and output and to maintain respective machine including all other machinery situated in the working area including its environment (eg floor, wall, AIMS, Barcode scanner, waste bins etc)
- To comply with requirements of entering information into checksheet, AIMS or any other system in compliance with company/plant requirement.
- To comply with all cleaning requirement and standards set including the method used to achieve those standards.
- To clean machine interior and exterior, small spaces, working at height, working at tight spaces and environment in according to food safety and quality requirement.
- To optimise resource, quality and productivity according to specification and plan for activities required for operation.
- Practice GMP and food safety and always keep work environment safe and clean
- Keeping up with expected throughput of the line in order to maximize productivity
- Maintaining a clear and timely recording with accountability on its recording and documentation of all parameters, performance, material used & stored and other relevant information.
- Ensure waste and rework is collected, kept and recorded accordingly according to procedure.
- Ensuring the equipment & tools provided are kept in good working condition and available.
- Be able to work in other areas/machine when needed arises according to superior's instruction.
Maintenance:
- Ensures reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing predictive/preventive maintenance on equipment and systems; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- To troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electronic and process problem. If beyond understanding or capability, to seek assistance from superior or SME.
- To perform CIL and other activities in order to maintain equipment efficiency and prolong it’s life span.
- To maintain tools, machinery and equipment provided are kept in good condition and available
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Adjusts and calibrates functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, and test equipment.
- Fabricates or repairs parts by using shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Identifies equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Provides electrical or mechanical maintenance information by conducting root cause analysis, answering questions, requests and participates in business unit team activities.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and participating in daily pass down discussions.
Continuous Improvement & Other tasks
- Maintain all documentation and records related to operation activities, maintenance activities and CI activities
- Assist in tracking and update plant’s key metrics
- Perform inventory order and replenishment of operation related tools such as cleaning tools, maintenance tools, visual management label, printing ribbons, etc.
- Take part as member in improvement activities/teams, whenever needed
- Any other tasks as instructed by superior
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Vocational Certificate/ STPM / A-level and above, Diploma preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experiences with Technical Certificate or lower
- Minimum 3 years of experiences with Diploma
- Experience in manufacturing environment preferred, regardless of position.
- Additional previous experiences in training administration is an advantage.
