Quality & Food Safety Systems Coordinator
Summary:
Leads the staff that is responsible for governing QA programs and undertakes assignments of very high complexity. Develops and documents Quality and Food Safety Systems for the Malaysia manufacturing plant. Responsible for external audits and interacts with regulatory officials on behalf of the Malaysia plant. Leads cross functional teams (Marketing, Legal, etc.) in the plant with respect to complex QRC issues (e.g. regulatory changes, product recalls, etc.). Develops effective working relationships with manufacturing management, QA, and other technical disciplines. Document, implement, and review prerequisite, supplier quality and plant QA programs, QA training, and specifications. In alignment with government regulations provide a consistent framework for Global product quality requirements relative to our manufacturing processes and products, and establishment of policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. Governance practices ensure oversight and consistent management of cohesive policies, decision making, and verification of practices.
Responsibilities:
Summary of major duties:
1. Plant Certification & Re-Certification
- Assisting in preparation of required documents for applications, which related to Food Safety and Quality plant certification. This includes HACCP, FSSC 22000, and ISO 9001
- Renewal of AELB License and FOSIM
2. Document Control & Management
- Produce and revise Quality Assurance Procedures, include pre-requisite program
- Develop relevant process of guides (POGs)
- Other documentation as required, in accordance with established procedures.
3. Assist in document control and management for quality records.
- Housekeeping of quality & food safety records as preparations for plant audits (internal and external).
- Retrieval of documents ; records and procedure for audit purposes
4. Audits
- Assist in conducting internal audits of manufacturing processes as to ensure compliance with internal procedures, Food Safety Management Systems and customer requirements
- Being an auditee during plant certification audit, as a main auditee for Food Safety system implementation
5. Review the Food Safety System for the plant ;
- Conduct a yearly HACCP Plan review (New & Current). Includes product description process flow, hazard analysis, CCP decision tree and HACCP plan summary
- Involved in Plant Certification Audits (Internal & External)
- CCP & OPRP Control including metal detector, x-ray, magnet, sieve. Review and ensure that the protocols are being met
- CCP Record review & monitoring. Includes all 6 CCPs in the plant ; Metal Detector, Allergen Package Verification, Cooking, Roasting and IN-line Strainer or any other CCPs that may be included in future
- Ensure that all CCP Validation report tha has been conducted by the relevant team has updated, review and available for audit purposes
- Conduct CCP Training to the shopfloor personnel to ensure that the understanding is meeting the expectation.
- Develop Training Assessment form and evaluate the training effectiveness
Qualification:
- B.S. or M.S. in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field.
- B.S. Min 5 years’ experience in food industry or equivalent experience.
- M.S. Min 3 years’ experience in food industry.
